EA Sports reveals next-gen Ignite engine

How come they didn't show the video of the games? I wasn't overly impressed with the graphics. They were good, but not leaps forward like I was expecting. I'm dying to see how NBA Live turns out compared to NBA 2K11 and 2K12.

I love how they use the same engine over and over while the games feel/look exactly the same. So just another engine they'll milk, that's why they had to announce it as if it's something special.

And what a pointless reveal it was. Impress me with gameplay not cut-scenes. I didn't see anything that made me think EA has changed its recent entries in sports titles. Even though... you know.. they are going to revolutionize sports gamings as we know it (rolls eyes). With what? more microtransactions... LOL If you would like to play the second half, that will be $5.

And as always ,,,, since the the new xbox and ps4 are in another league compared to current pcs 

the engine is only xbox and ps4 exclusive ....

the 4 sports games are next gen???????they look like xbox 360 and ps4 games...sorry this is not next gen....EA said the wii u is crap and they are not making games for nintendo,,,now they say they are making games for nintendo....they keep taking everyones money,,,just a big @#$^&..EA SUCKS

uhh...kinda confused with the human like intelligence they will pursue in this new engine. No matter how advance the AI capable to do (reaction time, instinct behavior, etc.), it will all come back to the real gamer who control them right? So maybe in the last minute of a game, Christiano Ronaldo is looking very eager to shoot a freekick, all of other Madrid's player are coming to the opponent side including the goalie, they can't waste any seconds, it looks really dramatic, still if the gamer don't want to rush thing, it will look awkward instead of realistic.

Same thing happens in 2K Sports's Top Spin 4, the AI have sets of skills and contextual awareness in regard to anticipating incoming ball (example, automatically smash a weak lob from your opponent), still if the gamer doesn't have the same awareness (like me which prefer offensive baseline style), it will be useless.

But i still wishing for the best for EA Sports, I can't wait to see the advance physics, animation, and of course the live worlds of the arena.

These guys used the Movie trailer hoax again. That was just a movie trailer any company can show a great movie trailer but movie trailer having nothing to do with a game. It's like trying to pass off cut scenes as an actual game. They did not show the graphics from actual game play and they did not show actual game play itself.

2k Sports > EA Sports

Sounds like good technology but the problem with all technology is that people don't know how to use it. They'll screw it up and the AI will be inaccurately reading information and dumb stuff will happen etc. EA has been playing these games forever.

I'm definitely looking forward to having better crowds in stadiums for games like FIFA. Sprites? In the year 2013? You've got to be kidding me. Even in the damn PC versions.

EA has been a big disappointment. They got a really deep hole to crawl out of before I can consider them a "game maker" again. We have nothing to do but wait and see,

Oh man, i sure do hope they have dirt under the players fingernails.  That would be so sweet.  Forget collision problems and texture glitches.

EA Promises breakthroughs in all these exact things EVERY year and fails every time. They can't even seem to fix the most BASIC problems year after year after year despite gamers screaming about them. I have zero faith this is anything more than the same ole crap.

Finally, the AI in Madden might be able to beat me! :) I hate playing against cheesers online, so this is great news!

However, this is EA, and there's always a pretty big catch...

WOW....Look at all that negative criticism. And not one of you have even seen a single second of actual gameplay or played any of the games. Gamers today are complacent and negative....NEVER HAPPY.

You all just jump on the bandwagon...."It says EA...IT MUST BE EVIL." I will wait to see the games in action, see the actual gameplay in motion. And if then I see there are no sicnificant improvement from the previous generation of sports titles from EA Sports, then I will say "it's the same crap on new consoles." 

Until then I can only hope they improve all these titles.

No faith in EA Sports delivering anything innovative for the Next Gen systems.  They put out a similar video for Madden when PS3 and 360 were coming out and they never came close to achieving what this video showed.  EA is all smoke and mirrors and they put waaaay more money into marketing their BS talking points and figuiring out ways to milk games than putting $$$ into actual new, innovative game development.  Hope I'm wrong... but I'll believe we are getting a 'brand new engine'(Ignite) built from the ground up and not just more EA TALK when I see it.

And I bet EA does what they always do on next gen games and strip out the features and slowly add them back year after year while charging full price.

Maybe I don't play enough sports games, but all the clips they showed looked like awkward 'uncanny valley' motion that made wonder why they were showing this off instead of fixing it. 

And it isn't like it is a selling point. EA doesn't get my money anymore for anything. 

AI, animations and texture collision is what I hope improves the most with next gen

I see EA are up to the same old marketing gimmicks !

They didnt even show the games, and everytime I hear "physics" and "experiences" I remember goalie and striker kissing each other in FIFA, players that fall like logs when tackled and an AI that behaves like a friggin RPG instead of a football sim. 

Meet Fifa 14 same as Fifa 13 but with improved physics and experiences.

Ok so you're going to maybe charge $99.99 for THIS? Sorry but NO SALE EA! I've seen this before with Madden 06 for the 360 and it's just not worth the money you are going to charge us!

It seems that DICE it's the only developer under EA that actually innovates.

The only EA sports games i buy every version is the Fight Night series. Cant wait to see that on Next Gen.

I like Fifa but know Ultimate team is one giant cash cow for EA. Its better being on the system it has most in common with.

They revealed the name of the engine.  Not so much the engine itself.  

I just dont understand what the Ignite does which todays sports games doesn't...

I could swear this is the exact same speech they gave with Madden 06.
