EA ships Disney's Party

By Thomas Layton

EA targets both GameCube and GBA with a game featuring six playable characters.

Disney's Party on the GameCube and Game Boy Advance has shipped, according to EA and Disney Interactive

In the game, which is being developed by Hudson Soft, six playable characters--Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and a curious ghost named Billy--explore 14 differently themed environments in Uncle Scrooge's Party Park.

Also included are 230 collectible Disney character cards and dozens of minigames. Disney's Party is rated "E" and is priced at $39.95 for the GameCube and $29.95 for the Game Boy Advance.

The use of Disney characters and licenses has certainly not been exclusive in the last few years, with different publishers releasing Disney-related games on different platforms, in addition to Disney Interactive's published games.

Along with EA and its Disney's Party offerings, other game publishers using the Disney license over the past years have included Activision (Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure), Square Enix (Kingdom Hearts), SCEA (Disney's Treasure Planet), Nintendo (Disney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse), THQ (Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire), Ubisoft (Disney's Tarzan Unlimited), Konami (Disney Sports Soccer), NewKidCo (Disney's Doug), and Capcom (Disney's Aladdin). Even WildTangent got in on the act with Disney's Lilo and Stitch Pinball.
