Gamers in the US get the soccer sim on most platforms September 28; European and Asian fans will have to wait until October 1.
FIFA 11 will be released from September 28, EA announced today. The soccer sim will be released in the US on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, DS, and PSP for the end of September, while European gamers will have to wait until the end of that week when the game hits their territories on October 1, when the Wii version will also be available. North American owners of Nintendo's console will have to wait until October 4 to waggle their way onto the pitch, however.
FIFA 11 will be the second entry in the football franchise to come out in 2010. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa came out at the end of April in time for the buildup to the international tournament of the same name that is now coming to its conclusion. The game has sold well, keeping its position in the top five of the UK all-formats chart since release.
EA also announced that FIFA 11 will feature advanced player customisation options on the PS3 and Xbox 360. A Web-based application will allow players to create their own footballers and then import them into the game. The application will also allow for the creation of club kits and stadia for these custom-made players, as well as saving tactics for them that can then be imported into the game on consoles.
This ties in with the previously announced overhaul of the game's statistics system, dubbed Personality+ that EA claims will allow for closer modelling of players and their individual styles of play. FIFA 11 is being developed by EA Canada and has not yet been rated by PEGI or the ESRB.
@Keitha313 that makes no sense, like i said the transfer ends in august 31, it dosnt take a month to move people around, you can do that yourself in less then a second release date should be late august early sept
@eynonz Thats funny because everyone I know who owns an xbox 360 has fifa. And they all live in America. Not to mention the fact that xbox 360 and ps3 are american made.
@fsem10 I don't agree, They release it at that date so they can follow up on any last day transfers plus it saves them having to do a immediate transfer dlc.
Do me the favour Fifa get rid of Ultimate team, In all honesty that mode is a joke and just complete rip off full of cheats and scammers. Lets see something new and innovative which is actually fun and not a arcade DLC which is next to impossible to defend in.... Seriously 2010's Ultimate team was a joke it was extremely hard to defend against anyone because most shots on goal would just go in no matter what...
@POPEYE1716. No i think they should improve the fifas every year as much as they can. But that is up to EA and not us. I would prefer a new version every year with lots of improvements, however if thats not possible little improvements is better then none. do u agree?
@tenten88 ohh so you mean like madden(rolls eyes) Updated roster you can do that now in FIFA10. They need to vastly improve this game like EA did with NHL.
@Fusco1980 lmao if ur not happy with EA then go cry to them. Im happy paying full price every year for improved graphics and new rosters. Who wants to play a old fifa game without new jerseys and gear? u obviously qq more qqqqqqqq.................qq.
@eynonz Why not? Why would they limit it to just countries with football/soccer in their top 3 sports. THAT'S a stupid idea.
Why would they bring out a 'Football' game to a country that ranks it as their #5 sport............pretty stupid idea seeing as this would sell alot better in Europe were its the #1 sport rather than the US...........
Though the console gamers are assured of another awesome FIFA title, i just PRAY that they actually put some effort into the PC version. Don't disappoint the system on which it all started, EA !!
this game needs to be released in August with the start of major leagues not at the end of september
Soccer is a very popular sport in America. It just isn't as popular at the professional level (as it is elsewhere in the world). It's a very popular youth sport in America, on par with basketball, baseball and even Pop Warner football.
I love this. Anything web-based is really useful for me. And about it being a secondary thing... That may be, but it could be because the gameplay is already pretty good.
@Cutepotatoes Are you insane? how can you say this title sells better in the US? if that was the case how come it's talking about it staying in pole position in UK charts since release? I think this should have gone out to EU first then US, Im sure there would be uproar if madden was released in EU first.. soccer isnt a popular american sport, I know beckham got you all into it but your hardly in a position to say that your passion for soccer is more then the whole of europe.. european leagues are the biggest and best in the world.. maybe they want to give it to the US first because they know they are guaranteed massive sales over here.. Anyways please konami make the new Pro Evo good this year or im jumping ship.
you guys are retarded, the game sells better in the US. You guys think the American's don't like soccer but the fact is that it sells better in the US than the EU, so they will release it first to them.
So the only real improvement is extra player customization... Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of customizing characters. But how many hardcore football fans are gonna give a crap about what their players look like? Just seems like something that should be secondary to gameplay.
@yanman1234, the transfer window closes on september 1st. All the squads will be up to date, at least they have been in previous FIFA's. If they do need updating, like after the January transfer window, they release the new squads which are free to download on the game.
What i dont get is that they release FIFA when the transfer window is still open so the squads are different in real life when you get it. Someone correct me if im wrong
ummm gameface has been on fifa for a while, and was part of fifa 10 and world cup ... nice t see theyre trying to hawk it as a new addition.... seems about right given what ive seen from EA the last couple years on fifa
all i care about is whether or not the pc version is going to be done properly this time, and not another lazy port from a last gen console.....
@ m3taleverywhere ohhh yhhhh because american football was made long before the better football where you achuly use your feet. :L
americans don't even like football. yes thats right, FOOTball! where you use your feet!!! hence FOOT!
I wish I have online game editing to but hard to find that kind of software, this game is going to be fun with two player cant wait.
