EA Pogos onto DS
Pogo Island heads to the DS with five casual games from the EA-owned Pogo.com, including Word Whomp, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, and Squelchies.
Electronic Arts is no stranger to the PC-based casual games market. The gaming giant owns Pogo.com, one of the largest Web-based casual games sites on the Internet.
Now, EA is bringing some of Pogo's properties to a new platform--the Nintendo DS. The publisher has announced Pogo Island for the handheld, a collection of five casual games. The game is being developed by EA Canada in Vancouver, and will be available on March 26.
The five games included are the colored-stone-grouping Phlinx, the balloon-popping Poppit!, the color-matching Squelchies, a card-based Tri-Peaks Solitaire, and the scrambled-word challenge Word Whomp. Pogo Island will also feature a "meta game" that challenges players to find Pogo mascots across the backdrop of Pogo Island.
The game is rated E for Everyone and has not yet been priced. For more information, read GameSpot's preview.
