EA announces Command & Conquer 12-pack
Tenth birthday for franchise means sweet gift for fans; A dozen games from the series for $40 this February.
It may be hard for fans of real-time strategy PC games to fathom, but the Command & Conquer series is a decade old. In commemoration of the big one-oh for the series, publisher Electronic Arts is offering a dozen PC Command & Conquer games, spanning 1995-2003, in one convenient package. The collection, titled Command & Conquer The First Decade, hits stores in February, and it carries a price tag of $39.99.
The pack includes several stand-alone games, as well as their respective expansions. It's not just tanks versus jets, either. The franchise's varied universes are included, such as the sci-fi setting of the Tiberium Sun series, the alternate history of the Red Alert chapters, and the new modern warfare of Generals.
In addition to the games, a bonus DVD includes plenty of intel on the franchise. Six video features are planned for the DVD, including an interview with Louis Castle, cofounder of the series' birthplace, Westwood Studios. C&C veterans will also have their opportunities to be included in the DVD, as EA looks for the biggest fans of the series. To find out more details on the contest and to have a chance to show the world what a true C&C fan is, head to the series' Web site.
All games included in Command & Conquer The First Decade are rated T for Teen.
Included in the pack are:
Command & Conquer (August 1995)
Command & Conquer The Covert Operations (April 1996)
Command & Conquer Red Alert (October 1996)
