@dlCHIEF58 its not just 3 games im talking about the whole halo franchise that ive played every game - Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach and now back to a revamped Halo combat evolved. im not even including Halo wars as it aint a fps. So yes of coarse its been done to death upto this point. I had more fun with the first halo on the first xbox as it was fresh and new and then the 360 had halo 2 massive for multi player which was fresh and new then it just felt the same as do the COD franchise now. So the new console realease of halo 4 is the only way its going to attract people to the franchise by doing something fresh and new on realease and wont work on the existing 360 as people will only get more of the same as the previous games which to me makes it done to death. Game follow ups now feel like the star wars franchise films who now are doing it in 3D at cinemas, yes they are classics but it grindes on and on and on and we need some new ideas and that can only be done on a new system. So why on earth would you wanna see halo 4 on the 360 and not the next gen.
I made a comment 11 months ago about halo 4 and the halo franchise being done to death, i still think the games industry for these big titles still do and need to put effort into new games as they did at the start when they came up with the idea of these well known games Which wowed and amazed us all when we played the origionals and i want that feeling back. I wasnt sure how halo 4 would turn out and wasnt that exicited about it back then, im still not sure about it now but from what ive seen so far from reviews and game trailers i have been tempted to revisit the series and am going to get a copy at some point. I dont know if its the same old thing with a few changes or not until i do play it. I must say though 343 have pushed this gen xbox to a higher par in terms of graphics with this game from what i have seen though which is to be commended. And the game will last a lot longer before the next one comes out unlike COD franchise which i wont be buying into this time.
When halo first came out it was new and exciting when COD came out it was also new and exciting, when mass effect came out it was new and exciting, when resident evil came out it was new and exicing, same goes with GTA, Crackdown, Red Dead, Batman, Dead space, Bio shock, Battlefield, Devil may cry, Ninja Gaiden and a lot more. But the one thing all these great games have in common is after the first one is succesfull and become a hit, they remake them over and over again to cash in and dont have anything fresh new and inovative like when they origionaly came out and gave me that expeirence i so love about gaming.
I hate remakes now and would rather they put the profit they made from an instant classic into a new inovative intant classic and put the heart and sole into making a new game with the same devotion they did in the origionals they develop. Its the same with film franchises and the gaming industry is doing the same and the art of story telling is running thin because of it.
