E3 2011: Halo: CE Anniversary confirmed

Please make PC ~~~~~~~~~~~~MULTIPLAYER~~~~~~~~~~~ version at least!

also I dunno why so many people complain about the library level ?! Yeah it was long and repetitive but you could mow down the flood with the AR and shotgun even on Legendary it wasn't that hard. Truth and Reconciliation on the other hand is was a different story....

The reason why they won't release it on the PC is simple, its to boost Xbox sales and MS gave up on PC ports a long time ago after the fiasco with Halo 2 Vista only and Gears of War PC, I am somehow impressed Fable 3 made it to the PC as well.

@SolidTy : Again The game will feature a competitive Multiplayer mode(7 maps) which works the same Reach Multiplayer (the same servers) , and you can install the maps to your hardrive and play them with Halo reach.

@SolidTy : I will feature halo 1 , running on a new engine(reach engine) with all the armor stuff i think , you can also play the original levels with the old graphics also, because the levels are going to be remastered (Remove the Library level please!) , also the game will have 7 HALO CE Maps and 1 Map Damnation from Halo 2 , that you can install to the hardrive and play them in Halo Reach , it will have Co-op , Xbl and offline , and it will cost 40 $ .

Pakundo I am PC gamer and a XBOX 360 gamer as well and forgive me for saying this (because i have already got into trouble with someone else because of the comment i wrote) the reason why they brought Halo 1 and 2 out to pc was because the original xbox was based on the pc. but with the newer Halo games microsoft knew that a pc would not be able to handle the new games, (even with all the graphic and reader cards you get for the pc). And in my experience a better than average PC is worst than the XBOX 360 in terms of hardware and software.

Halo CE was released in 2001, not 2000.

michaelbilby, you're either a troll, or dumb. Because it's quite the opposite - a better than average PC is better than the 360 in terms of hardware. They didn't bring these games to PC for the exclusivity.

The worst thing about remakes is that every now and then when technology advances someone will always think its a great idea to make a Re-Re-Re HD remake of that classic from 10 years back, it just never end To all the developers remember things become classics because they were great at release and are no longer available, and their unavailability makes them even better, I have never played Halo CE but i heard and belief it is a great epic master piece of a game but now am get this HD remake and chances are it will not match my over ambitious expectation of its awesomeness

Pakunko i am sorry to say but the reason why microsoft never brought out halo 3,odst or reach on the pc because the pc simple cannot handle all the graphics, engines and the other areas of the games

The great surprise I got from this was the multiplayer maps. My friends and I did quite a few LAN parties with multiple Sony WEGA TV's hooked up and had a blast. . . Can't believe that was 10 years ago! I cannot wait. Rage is a must buy, Uncharted 3 and Gears 3 are automatics. But THIS may be my most anticipated title of the year.

I know Microsoft really loves the Halo franchise as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but that means they completely forgot about us PC fans. Yes, us, who got Halo PC on 2003, which is until now one of the most played online shooters that are over 5 years old. Us, who got Halo 2 Vista only on May 2007, without support at all. Us, PC fans of the series, who never got Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, or Halo: Reach. I won't mention Halo: Wars, because it is outside of the main franchise in my opinion, but you get my point. I still want to finish the fight, and it's not 2007 anymore. It's 2011.

I wonder what achievements will be included if any. Also, any rerelease of Halo 2? How about all the favorite maps from CE and Halo 2? Will they be DLC later on?

Halo HD ten years to the day. It is kinda OK.

They should have included Halo 2 in this, but I think they will do that after this comes out.

The good thing that I seen from the trailer is that they really stuck with the original game. They even said you can turn on and off a setting that lets you use the older graphics just to prove that point. This will be nice get play while we wait for H4. Thank you 343 for giving us Halo fans something to look forword to. Great start to E3 and a great way to near the end of 2011!

Looks nice, but it seems like these kind of HD remakes look too "smooth." Where the textures take a back seat. Like the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake. Don't know why they bothered with a toggle for old graphics. They'll look fuzzy as hell on an HDTV. So wish they did Halo 2 in HD too, probably saving that for down the road. That was one thing I hoped came from this E3: Halo 1 and 2 redone in HD to fit in better with the current 360 library.

So I pressed ctrl + F and Firefox couldn't find the words "milk" or "cash cow" anywhere in the comments section. Maybe gamers are really starting to lighten up on the Halo hate...

I still think CE is the best of the whole Halo series because the flood didn't destroy the whole game. In CE you were fighting flood, and convenant in small skirmishes or huge battles. No Halo game in history has ever come close to matching the epicness of it.

Why not re-lease the Xbox Halo Triple Pack we a Re-make Halo 2 as well and sell them as a bundle?

the remake is a nice piece of bait until halo 4 arrives.

I loved the first, and still do. I play it every now and then. But I hope this doesn't outright kill combat evolved for us PC players...

Why does it have reach multiplayer? It's pretty obviously the least popular halo so why are they trying so much for it. Just let it die and release a better game.

It is not gonna be a full 60$ It will probably be around the range of 40$. Frank Oconnor said it in an interview. Plus you get some extra stuff with it. Cant wait!!!

If you ask me, the Master Chief was in top form in the first title. The Mk. V had stronger shields, the M6D was loaded with explosive ammo, the Warthog pasted Covenant blood all over the place even if it only lightly tapped them, and the Chief could go toe-to-toe in melee combat with Elites without getting his head instantly bashed in like with Halo 2 or the S-IIIs in Reach. I hope they faithfully recreate the incomparable feel of the first game while giving it a new coat of paint.

@thefrayl I watched the G4 TV interview about the game and the person showcasing the game said it will not be full retail price.

Don't think they going to release it full price, that be like bring out the old super Mario games out and charging £40 for it. I think and hope it be half the price, because i didn't play the first Halo, got into it just before the 3rd game by playing the 2nd game.

@gc88: What's your source? Halo 3: ODST was 59.99 even though it wasn't justified by what was delivered (According to both fans & Bungie studios alike). 39.99 sounds reasonable to me, but I doubt that will pass for a Halo game. :\

Don't be nieve! The game will have all the original maps, but you'll have to pay even more for the ones not included via downloadable content.

I don't think an HD finish can justify a $60 price tag. Not when they are not including all of the maps from the original. Sadly, I'll more than likely get this, seeing how there will be Live support.

"Just seven maps? There were more than that in the original Halo. I was expecting all of the original maps..." For some reason I read this in the original article as 7 ADDITIONAL maps, as in, ones that weren't included in the original games release. But I could be wrong.

@juiceair I agree. I love Halo but I refuse to pay 60 dollars for an updated version of what I already have. Now if they add original content like they did with ODST (Firefight) and Reach (Forge) then maybe but overall its just not worth it for me. There are too many great games that I still have to get and I wont have time to play this anyways.

@hardcorelazor yes they will be in reach the seven maps and it will have the same price tag as odst for what i know for now
