Loved FC2, but could never finish it .... I had continual corrupt saved game files on XBOX360. Nothing like 50 hours of sneaking around getting diamonds etc, and then bam - redo. As long as that's fixed - looking forward to FC3.
E3 2011: Far Cry 3 arriving next year
Ubisoft confirms development of third entry in action shooter series for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2012.
LOS ANGELES--Today at Ubisoft's 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing, the French publisher made official the third entry in the Far Cry series.
Simply titled Far Cry 3, the game is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal, "with the support" of Ubisoft Shanghai and Massive Entertainment, which is also currently working on Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The game will ship for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2012.
News of a third entry in the Far Cry series comes as not much of a surprise, as its predecessor--Far Cry 2--has sold more than 1 million units. Additionally, early last month development of the game was revealed on a stuntman's resume.
As for the title, Far Cry 3 will cast players as Jason Brody, a man stranded on a strange tropical island similar to the setting of the first Far Cry. Gamers will head out into this "savage paradise" and "slash, sneak, and shoot" in order to survive the world that has "lost all sense of morality."
