E3 2011: Far Cry 3 arriving next year

Loved FC2, but could never finish it .... I had continual corrupt saved game files on XBOX360. Nothing like 50 hours of sneaking around getting diamonds etc, and then bam - redo. As long as that's fixed - looking forward to FC3.

I loved the 1st 2 Far Cry games as well as the Crysis series. I think this one is going to be awesome. I just hope the AI is a bit better, and the death animations need to be rehashed. In FC2, you snipe a guy driving a jeep, his body stands up outside the vehicle and then falls to the ground. LOL! Also, the sound needs work from FC2. Dudes talking to each other that are 50 yards away sound like they are right next to you. And if I am wearing a camo suit, I want to see camo on my body when I look down!

Demo looks excellent - roll on 2012 then. Please no aliens or zombies!!

@noble95x No! In the game Fracture the main character's name was Jet Brody. Obviously I can read that it says the main character in Far Cry 3 is called Jason Brody, but I just think it's funny that when people reviewed Fracture they complained about the name and the FC3 dude's name isn't that much different. :P

Hopefully this game will actually be fun unlike Far Cry 2.

@FLOWZMENTAL, far cry 2 used dunia not cry engine 2. dunia uses the exact same techniques as cryengine 3, just cryengine 3 makes them look better.

@FLOWZMENTAL Far Cry 2 did not use CryEngine 2. It used Dunia.

@noble95x They maybe possibly using CryEngine 3 for this one. Considering that Far Cry 2 and Crysis: Warhead used their CryEngine 2.

Not that it seems like a bad game, but i just don't understand what people see in this franchise. Besides lots of cussing, Far Cry never seemed to have anything that other games didn't already, including Crysis. Why don't they just focus on one game?

i liked choosing charecters and it hought farcry2 could have had huuuuge ptential for a coop thing but didnt take it. the fire effects and stuff was so cool in the game but it was really hard and a punishing game which i also liked i hope it still a sandbox game

Best game of Ubisoft at this E3 hands down. AWESOMEE!!!!!!!!!

The demo shown looked great, love that graphics engine

A tropical island? damn my pants are getting wet now. I've always wanted to go back to those beautiful vistas and dense jungles of FarCry, guess my dream is coming true. I trust this game will be epic :D can't wait to know more about the game.

I am really glad that they are makeing this, although I am disapointed they are losing the multiple paths/characters from the 2nd one. Also one of the friendliest multi-players on the PS3.

my wishlist for this game: predator animals which where cut in the last one, updated controls, more tools in the excellent map editor, and oh yeah dont cut the map editor or im not buying it. maybe some more reach style gamemode tools. dont do what reach did with that forge island crap though. that barely counted as a map editor after instincts and far cry 2's editor that let you create landmass and had an easy to use snap features which reach lacked. its nice to hear they're going back to a tropical setting because i was sick of brown water being the only option in the editor and i hope they add modern day buildings instead of just third world huts and such.

The reveal trailer was pretty nice looking. It's good to see that, unlike FC2, this will actually focus on one character and be more story driven again.

Far Cry 3 looks amazing. The story also looks more immersive and better than FC2. Looks and sounds like a must buy but I guess we'll see. It better still have the map editor. It also looks like it listened to some of the fan requests so that's good.

Far Cry 3 looks great I can't wait to play it.
