NeoNavarro and spyduhmahn.....hahahahah atleast people recognize your city exists....people don't even know Bismarck, let alone North Dakota exists! North Dakota was in the messengers and the second Leperchaun movies, and that didn't even look like north dakota! (but atleast someone recognized north dakota :) ) haha. I'd like to see a game based in North Dakota, flat, boring, and has like 2 big cities, and by big i mean 1/100 of the size of chicago haha. oh and for the record, we don't still ride in covered wagons.
Publisher's latest will challenge players to survive in the ruins of a devastated Chicago, set for release next spring.
Ubisoft scored a new franchise last year with the 6 million-selling Assassin's Creed, and the experience has apparently given the France-based publisher a taste for success. In its annual report, Ubisoft said that it was launching five new series in the current fiscal year: Haze, Shaun White Snowboarding, H.A.W.X., EndWar, and one other, unnamed project.
That project might have been named today when the publisher capped off its E3 Media & Business Summit conference with the announcement of I Am Alive. Described as a "survival-adventure" title, the game is set in a devastated Chicago, where a protagonist named Adam struggles to get by in the wake of an unknown catastrophe.
The trailer shown during the Ubisoft conference suggests that the catastrophe was actually the result of an earthquake. A billboard alongside the city's distinctive elevated train tracks references "ruaumoko," the Maori god of earthquakes and volcanoes.
I Am Alive is set for release on unspecified current-generation consoles in the spring of 2009. The game is being developed by Darkworks, the Paris-based development studio behind Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare and Cold Fear.
please don't make us burn the posters of "ruaumoko" in order to advance thru the game... haha for those that have played alone in the dark, u know what i mean (roots of evil) X(
when I first saw Alone in the Dark trailer it was awesome too but I hope this game doesnt desapoint as it did
i think it sounds cool i just hope it doesnt end up being a horror game... im not a fan of those types of games
I totally thought of this when I saw the headline  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGEiDN3GH-0

Ubi better stay alive and out of EA's hands as well at all cost. I am wondering with the Ubi/EA battle is going to start getting attention like the TTwo one.
We reported it last week a rumor, but today we're bringing you the official word: Ubisoft announced a new title from Jade Raymond, the genius behind Assassin's Creed! I Am Alive is a survival-horror game set in post apocolypse Chicago. Ubisoft describes the game thusly: "When Chicago is left in ruins and the cause of the devastation is unknown, players will be challenged to think, react and take risks that will directly affect themselves and those around them." "Ubisoft continues to create new experiences for players and I Am Alive will appeal to anyone that enjoys a thrilling journey," said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, at Ubisoft. "The game will offer a rich palette of emotions while challenging players to make life-changing decisions." Look for it this spring on "current gen" systems. (They probably mean the PS3 and the 360, and maybe the Wii.) Keep checking back here for a look at the trailer.
Sounds good, but I'm a little put off by the "I Am" part of the title, along with the fact that you're "surviving" a devastated city...*cough* I Am Legend
Man I cant wait for this one. Can you say AWSOME! This is going to be so cool. I am so excited. Way to go Ubi.
Finally, a game set in my hometown of Chicago! I wish more developers use Chicago in there games in Chicago.
Ubisoft is by far my favorite publisher. I don't know about using the same team behind Alone in the Dark though. ta\\
They decided to scrap the new direction and start over (or something like that) so it's unlikely that they'd have any gameplay. (reference to Splinter Cell: Conviction)
The same team who did Cold Fear? That game wasn't half bad, in my opinion. For a bargain bin game, it was really fun and in the style of the old Resident Evils, along with the over-the-shoulder style similar to RE 4. It wasn't amazing, but I did enjoy it. Twice, actually. Anyways, I really hope this comes to the Wii. It looks awesome.
At first, I thought from the title it was going to be some sort of "I am Legend" game... now that wouldh ave been cool. Still though, sounds like its at least worth following.
...and Assassin's Creed. Beautiful graphics, brilliant animation, awesome ideas, repetitive and boring.
Sounds interesting, but I am still hoping for news of Assassin's Creed 2 in the near future, as I really want to find out how they are going to follow up the first one :)
I hope they would announce Assassin's Creed 2 and show us some gameplay from Splinter Cell Conviction.
how about assassin's creed 2? the story in the first one was incredible and i cannot wait for the second one!
I bet the entire game was you trying to figure out what this disaster was... and gamespot just gave it away.
