E3 06: THQ queues up E3 games
Wii, 360 Cars take pole position for publisher; Saints Row playable for first time on Xbox 360, WWE vs. Raw 2007 also on display. Video chat with CEO Brian Farrell inside.
Throughout the transition between current- and next-gen consoles, THQ CEO Brian Farrell has emphasized the importance of digging into the next generation and getting a firm foothold. If the company's E3 lineup is any indication, it's poised to do just that.
The Agoura Hills, California-based publisher today revealed that nine next-generation titles on all of the "Big Three" next-gen platforms will be on display in some form in THQ's booth, located in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
CEO Brian Farrell talks about THQ's E3 lineup and what is important in the console transition.
Leading the pack are the previously unannounced and heavily rumored Xbox 360 and Wii versions of Cars, based on the Pixar Studios movie of the same name. The game, which is also being released for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, DS, Game Boy Advance, and PC, will be released in June on current-generation consoles and in the fall for next-gen consoles.
Saints Row, the thugged-out Xbox 360 banger from Volition, will be playable for the first time at the convention. Also making a debut is WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007; however, it is unclear whether the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will be shown. Other next-gen games prepped for the expo include MotoGP '06, GTR, Frontlines: Fuel of War, and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Creature From the Krusty Krab.

GTR sounds exciting!!
co-op sounds cool PS3 ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate THQ. They give Nintendo platforms crap. They're the ones that started the rumors of Nintendo only being for little kids, probably. They sure as hell support the idea.
GTR Sounds Brilliant I Havn't Even Seen It Yet And I Think I'll Probably Get It
MotoGP Looks Brill But I'm Not Sure If I'll Get It
All Right!!!! Warhammer
i love the E3
Wheres S.T.A.L.K.E.R?????????
They should release it only for PS3 if they want to sell BIG, not at that X360, just CRAP.
I can't wait to see what footage they show of these games: Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, Titan Quest, Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War - Dark Crusade & Destroy All Humans! 2.
Damn nuthin much for PS3
Oh yeah, I was getting excited that most companies are dropping the "kiddie label" for Nintendo next-gen console, although THQ didn't quite get it...
Well, THQ seems to be all about the 360... I'm surprised that even the PS3 got less games than the Wii (I starting to get used to the name...), although I can't quite consider SpongeBob something that can make up a good game...
That sucks without stalker.
that's an OK to MEH lineup.
That looks like a decent line up. Im surprised they are not bringing Destroy all human to next gen consoles
too bad no one really cares about Cars (inculding me)
Destroy All Humans 2!!!
Shoot. No new Punisher game, eh? :/
RAW VS. SMACKDOWN 2007!
Very very nice lineup. Looking forward to a lot of titles here.
A new Bratz game? Yay! I'm kidding, I'm kidding...
whooo! cant wait to play spongebob on my wii! lol
Saints Row is going to be bad ass. Wish Destroy all Humans 2 was going Next Gen but prolly gonna be based on the same game engine.
I can't wait to hear what they have to say about WWE SvR2007 and Destroy All Humans! 2
360 keeps getting gold.
Titan Quest and WH40k:DOW DC are the best ones IMO.
Where's the delayed S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl?
Holesinswiss wrote: Destroy All Humans! 2 just begs to be on the nextgen platforms. I hope they'll follow up with 360/PS3/Wii versions. _____________________________________________________________ That would be awesome on Revolution. The whole telekinetic, pick stuff up with your mind, move it around in the air control on the Rev remote would be cool if they can get the rest of the controls right.
Only one game for the Wiiiiiiii???
Don't forget The Sopranos.
cool.. im most interested in smackdown vs raw 2007 and destroy all humans2...
WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw 2007 looks incredible
Well Supreme Commander looks like it will be hot,..I'm gonna have to check up on the others though
Supreme Commander is probably the only game in their line-up I'm interested in.
just spongebob and cars for Wii? And they want a "foothold" over the system? COme on you can do better than that.
Destroy All Humans! 2 just begs to be on the nextgen platforms. I hope they'll follow up with 360/PS3/Wii versions.
Not impressed at all.
avatar the last airbender....
wow saint's row is taking forever!!! Hopefully the game delivers. Went from a rumoured launch title to launch window to summer 2006 to fall 2006. Nevertheless a nice lineup.
Thats a good line up but less PS3 games then I thought there would be.
PRETTY NICE LINE UP
i cant wait for e3!!
yah titan quest looks pretty sick also
I am glad to see 3rd party support for the 360 and Wii.
I am certainly looking forward to seeing more of Titan Quest.
why hasnt anyone posted yet???
supreme commander and saints row look amazing
i was never first to post
