This is pretty awesome. People were expecting this from Sony and they finally delivered. granted I have a wireless router so I'm fine near my house but if I take my PSP into college it would be awesome to be able to connect to other people there too.
Sony announces white PlayStation Portable for Europe, expanded Wi-Fi hot spot scheme, a Platinum range of titles, and interactive City Guides.
LOS ANGELES--Following Sony's pre-E3 press conference on Monday, the company has made further announcements regarding the PlayStation Portable in Europe. Chief among these is the availability of the ceramic white edition of the console, previously only available in Japan. It will ship next week and contain the same items as the existing Value Pack (including a 32MB memory card) for the estimated price of £179.99 ($334).
In addition, Sony will create around 300 Wi-Fi hot spots around Europe in the coming weeks, adding to its already successful scheme in Japan. Each one will provide the ability for users to download PSP-specific content, although a list of hot spot locations has not yet been released.
Sony will also release a range of titles under a Platinum banner in June, each costing £19.99 ($37). This will initially include Everybody's Golf, Ridge Racer, WRC, F1 Grand Prix, Medievil: Resurrection, Pursuit Force, Virtua Tennis: World Tour, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006, Need for Speed Underground Rivals, Burnout Legends, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Finally, the Planet PSP Interactive City Guides will also arrive in Q3 2006 with a host of European cities featured, including London, Barcelona, and Amsterdam.
1: Stop whining. 2: If you think it's boring, don't post. Don't look. Mountain Dew is a strange drink... Soda... Thing.
Nintendo own the handheld market, and the psp is just trying to play catch up. wow a white psp like... um, lemme think... a white DS Lite, maybe ? ...nice one on umd too Fony.. lol. No Nintendo fanboys or fangirls I know are 6-12. thats just a pathetic stab at it. have you seen Red Steel? hardly for kids is it ?
Actually, Viquist, buying another PSP just because it is white is exactly the kind of thing that an American would do.
Thank you! It's about time we got some love. What with simaltaneous relased, region free and added bonuses, we finally getting to some good stuff. The PSP still has much to offer.
Europe should be blessed even more. Prices should drop, exclusive features should appear and European studios should have the chance to show theyr effords. I dont hate U.S., but its true, when something new doesnt show up in there some of you guys just start bi-tchi-ng around. Fortunately the global market is getting solid and almost everything is everywhere. Btw, watta hell is "Mountain Dew"?
"NextGenAdam booooooring. Try nintendo if you want to hear something even slightly interesting... (thanks for the constant news though!)" What, a console based around light gun games??? -oh, and why buy a new psp just cuz its white. Buy a new faceplate.
booooooring. Try nintendo if you want to hear something even slightly interesting... (thanks for the constant news though!)
You americans are so spoilt. You get everything before Europe and just because you don't get to have a white PSP value pack that is simply a different colour you start to sulk about it.
Maybe because most of the people who are going to buy a PSP in the States have already bought one and are not going to buy another just because "now it comes in white... oooooooohhhh!!!!" However they do need to bring the Wi-Fi spots to the states
Ok, so you're actually still posting things about Sony when the NINTENDO announcements are being made, not that I mind, gives me something to do while waiting for the page Nin page to reload... nothing all that interesting here though, good news for Europe
why doesn't the us get a white psp? or created wi-fi hot spots? Well good for europe and their interactive city guides. mabey this will be coming to the u.s. soon.
