E3 06: Final Fantasy VII goes mobile again

very impressive

I don't think this game will play well on my phone even though its a good phone. Phone games just arn't up to power. Also you can't complain when the price of a phone game is like what $7 canadian for me.

Sorry but games on cell phones suck. I tried multiple times and it's just not fun at all. They need to put stuff like this on the GBA, PSP, or DS.

well the ps2 title was sick and played awsome at e3. i liked the game play it was something new. it was like a shoter rpg. I only have to say that if they keep this up they will kill FF7.

DoC killed FFVII for me. That game truly made a mockery of everything. Only a true graphics whore would have anything good to say about that cursed game, but SE doesn't seem to want to listen... I'm alright with spin offs... but these are coming 10 years after the fact >.o Can't these game teams work on new stuff instead? Or is their idea factory that dead?

I agree with viquist. I didn't have the ps, and i had to hear all my friends how wonderful the game was. When i finally got the ps2 i couldn't get it. Just remake it.

Not all of us were fortunant enough in the past to have a PS and FFVII - we only saw our friends play it and never had it ourselves... and now with the movie out all the old returned ones at EB, Gamespot, and Babbages have been bought again. And for those who did buy it and play it and trade it can't buy it now because there aren't any to buy. So, to the guy who said we're all just grapfix whores and that if he wanted to play the game he'd play the original, I say 2 things: 1) if you still have the game from back then or if you were lucky enough to rebuy it recently, good for you - not all of us have it now. 2) We want the remake for the experience of playing what has been considered one of the best FF Storylines, if not THE BEST!!!, again or even for the first time - and having it souped up to today's standards is an extra added bonus we're wanting due to the trailer they teased us with

stop with the dumn add-on story lines. just remake the darn game for the PS3 or Xbox 360

I mean seriously, look at how much buzz the FF7 tech demo got last year when people thought it was a remake. If you add up all the buzz from all the other sleeper spinoffs it still wouldnt equal half as much attention as that demo got. How much more proof do they need that a FF7 remake would sell huge? Get a clue Square. Please?

God. Remake FF7 and be done with it. LISTEN TO THE FANS!!!!!! We dont want this stupid crap, all of the money spent on these retarded games could have gone to a guranteed hit like a FF7 remake.

You know, it's not necessarily Squeenix's fault. It the fault of each and every person that's running around with a "Cloud" or "Sephiroth" type of name on these online games (such as FFXI) and such. It goes alittle something like this: Squeenix sees FFVII screen names floating around, Squeenix believes that this game franchise (and yes, it is a franchise now as far as I'm concerned) is still as big as ever, Squeenix sees there's money to be made off this franchise and produces all sorts of FFVII games to fill their hearts' desires. Bottom line: You what someone to blame? Blame the "UberCloudPwnz" and "OneWingSephiroth" users out there.

Haha. You guys take this stuff too seriously. If you don't like it don't worry about it. No game ( God forbid it be a Final Fantasy game) is worth raising your blood pressure for. I for one am not going to worry about this game unless I get a phone that can handle it. If not. Oh well. The last thing I want to see from FFVII is something involving Denzel and Marlene. I don't even really care for a remake of FFVII. It was a good game but I am enjoying all the new properties and other stories that are being told with the same world. A remake is not nessicary. Everyone knows the story already and the only reason that anyone would play the game is because it has pretty graphics. I'm not a graphics whore enough to care about that. If I want FFVII's story I'll replay the original. And finally on one final note. If you don't like it, Don't buy it and don't play it. No one is forcing you to play these games. Square doesn't have a gun to your head insisting that you play or die. Square will do what they've always done, what they want. So I'm not going to worry about it. And really, neither should you. They are not going to read these comments so it's just whinning into the wind.

I REALLY!!! hope Square is listening to all this because as of their last announcement they said that a FFVII remake would not be done unless it was warranted and desperately wanted by the fans... well, enough of us have spoken I think... Stop with all the Spin Offs (especially Mobile) and REMAKE THE ORIGINAL!!! please.

I wonder how long SqE will string along it's loyal fanbase, I mean with TN making Final Fantasy Versus XIII (a title I can't even begin to understand why it's needed) instead of a VII remake I can honestly say that I have no hope that one will come, so how long are they going to c*** tease us with these spin-offs.

If you're going to make another FFVII game make a REAL FFVII game, like a sequel or that much-clamored-for PS3 remake. All of this crap coming out of the Final Fantasy VII sweatshop is simply going to serve as an excuse for why they never got around to making the REAL Final Fantasy VII game. "But we've spent enough time on FFVII..." they'll say... I WANTED a REAL SEQUEL/REMAKE TO FF7 when i sent my thousands of emails...not this crap...no one asked for this...

note to some of the previous posters, the phone stuff isn't "experimental". Outside of the US, mobile phone gaming is a pretty large platform. a pretty large platform that makes alot of the Japanese developers a nice chunk of money thanks to low dev costs and high profits. S-E themselves have said its their most profitable sector.

A remake of FFVII would help a little against Halo3 but not likely..... you could get the Wii and 360 for the price of one PS3

It's interesting that they're putting out so MANY of these spinoffs out... I really think that they have something up their sleeves... All this does is build up the franchise even more, and if/when they announce a remake or sequel to FF7, the sales of EVERYTHING will go up... Right now they're just making this huge money-making machine even more massive.

So, how much is it until the FFVII spin-offs reach the two-digits quantity?

Haven't they milked FFVII enough? It wasn't even that great to begin with. I still say IX was better.

Seriously! If Square Enix is gonna make THREE FFXIIIs and Dirge of Cerberus for PSP, why not make a FFVII remake for the PS3? Wouldn't Sony convince Square Enix to remake the FFVII for the PS3, because I really think that ALONE would sell the PS3 in MASS QUANTITIES! Kind of like Halo did for the Xbox when it came out. If there was no Halo then the Xbox would've probably gone nowhere. Maybe they're saying they're not gonna do it, but will just pull that ace out of their sleeve.

If it was a system game... They NEED to start making sequals. If Final Fantasy X can get a sequal, then so can VII

Mobile phone games are huge in Japan, Japanese gamers are probably not sitting there crying.

I loved AC and i'm looking forward to the other spin-offs but what the eff is with the mobile titles? Honestly, how many people play phone games? What phones will they work for? and really how much can you really do with a phone game? Not alot of room for storytelling or great gameplay when your playin on a phone.

Yeah, it's getting tiresome. If they're gonna push this anymore, they NEED to close it with a remake of the original, for the PS3. They proved they could handle the upgrade in terms of graphics and style with the tech demo. I don't even see why DoC was necessary as Advent Children was an excellent closure to the series. They should have limited it to AC only, it was amazing but the rest of the games have been average..at best(apart from the original which was incredible)

Enough VII, move onto new FF games XD, or if they want to remake stuff VI could use a full on remake
