Thats gonna make a major dent in my wallet, but after almost 15 years of waiting, its totally worth it.
"Balls of Steel" edition to figure a Duke bust, playing cards, casino chips, and more.
Duke Nukem Forever is coming out this May, and 2K Games revealed today that the oft-delayed title is to get a collector's edition. The Balls of Steel edition, as it is known, will include a range of gewgaws and Duke Nukem paraphernalia. No price has yet been announced, but 2K has confirmed it will be available alongside the standard edition, on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Among the items bundled with the long-missing game are a bust of the titular hero, a set of playing cards, dice, and two casino chips. A comic and hard-cover art book also await those who splash the cash for this edition, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The official images of Balls of Steel edition clearly show that the run will be limited to 2,000, but 2K Games has confirmed to GameSpot that the run will not be this limited. The publisher did not confirm how many would be made.
Duke Nukem Forever spent most of its development cycle under wraps at 3D Realms before Gearbox Games' Randy Pitchford unexpectedly announced his firm had taken the project over in 2010. First announced in 1997, Duke Nukem Forever is a sequel to 1996's Duke Nukem 3D.
The title is due to be released on May 3 in the USA and on May 6 in the rest of the world. It has been rated M by the ESRB, MA15+ by Australian censors, and 18+ by European group PEGI. Now if they had offered (for xbox) that "duke pad" he's using, i'd be all over this like a wet flannel. I'm sure they could make a similar thing for ps3. Guess i'll keep hoping for someone to make that controller...
O.O I want this. The radioactive symbol is one of my favorite symbols, so it makes it that much cooler!
I don't want to be kicked by Duke's Mighty Foot, so I may just have to buy DNF's CE. I still have a CD copy of Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior!
Only ever bought 2 elaborate game editions: Gran Turismo 5 and Killzone 3 (pre-ordered). Must say this looks tempting but I have no cash spare.
When I first glanced at this I thought it said Duke Nukem Forever delayed so I was going to have a fit but was happy to see the contents of the collectors edition.
IMO The bust is different, but when I look at the CE(KE) for Mortal Kombat, I think that the book/game ends of Duke on one side and a stripper pole and dancer would have been more fitting. Perhaps it's me and the word bust...
Duuuuude!!! This game is gonna rock, and so is this collector's edition. I spent $100 on the special edition of Bioshock 2, and while that was a very nice collector's edition, and was also worth the money, I felt that for $100 I should have gotten a little more than some posters, a record, a cd, and an art book. But this one...I don't know: A bust of the Duke(hopefully not cheap pewter), a pair of dice, a full deck of playing cards, a comic book, an art book, a certificate of authenticity, and some other cool stuff......sounds........AWESOME! $100? You got it. Inflation prices? Who cares?! Hail to the king, baby.
After 5 hours of gamestop customer service, I changed my Duke Nukem pre-order to this. Finally one that's decently priced at 100 instead of 150 like others.
I remember being 12 years old and buying Duke Nukem 3D in the big ass boxes that games used to come in. Many years ago I gave my friend the mouse pad that came with it and he still has it!
you know what this CE looks like something I might want to get and it looks like it might actually getting.
@doolindesperado I was wondering the same thing lol. I've got a ridiculously old pre-order receipt that better be worth the money I put down on it lol.
On amazon, appears to be $90 for PC, and $100 for PS3/360. Considering PC is the lead platform, this only makes it an easier choice.
@DarthVeng_basic you talk some s*** kid! some reeeeaal rubber dog s***'s....now go take ya mouth for a wash an i dont wanna see you round these parts no more fool.
They Should have just re-released The Duke Nukem "Kill a Ton" package. an updated Version of all the Duke Nukem games. Now Duke Nukem is destined to fail....
This is a bit ridiculous and pointless. Just put the game out already and be done with it. it would have been better to just have an HD upgraded version of the original Duke Nukem Games instead plastic garbage.
an actual collector's edition worth buying. i find most just nerdy as hell but the Duke is just a straight up badass mofo
This is one of the CEs i gotta have haha, and I havent bought any yet( well i bought RE5ce at half price)
Wonder if you can pre-order it now? Don't see any Limited Edition on Gamestop yet. We'll have to wait a bit. Game looks like it will be fun though. Might be worth a look after 15yrs in development. I'm glad it's coming out later in May though. There are a slew of great games coming out in the next 2 months. Games like Fight Night Champions, Marvel -vs- Capcom 3, Dragon Quest VI, Tactics Ogre, BulletStorm, KZ3, Rift, Deus Ex human Revolution, Dragon Age 2, MLB 11: The Show, Patapon 3, Yakuza 4 and a few other great titles.
