Nintendo's dual-screen handheld gets a dose of girl power with Super Princess Peach; roles reversed as Peach rescues Mario.
The classic damsel-in-distress story has always been a staple of gaming. Not many characters have been on the side of overcoming unbearable odds to rescue a helpless hostage more than Nintendo's Mario. Over the last several decades, the unlikely hero has battled giant apes and giant reptiles all in the name of chivalry.
Things have changed since the 1980s.
Nintendo is giving one of Mario's rescuees, Princess Peach, a chance to repay the favor in Super Princess Peach, now available for the Nintendo DS. The game is rated E for Everyone and retails for $34.99.
Bowser has once again captured one of the Mushroom Kingdom's crew, only this time he snagged the man who has foiled his plans several times: Mario. Using her dainty umbrella, Peach comes to the rescue and storms through the game's side-scrolling action, rescuing imprisoned Toads and defeating enemies on Vibe Island. Her emotions may get the best of her, but they become valuable powers in battle. She can fly when she is happy, water plants when she is sad, and catch on fire when she's angry.

This being the... third "Save Mario!" game ever. Mario is Missing, Luigi's Mansion... and now Super Princess Peach. Getting kinda boring now. :( Where is the true Mario platformer? >:|

Even though this game looks really girly, it looks fun, so I'll pick it up sometime. I don't care if it's a little on the easy side. Not every game needs to have a difficulty level of Mega Man Zero or Treasure standards.
I'll be picking this game up. It looks interesting and it should keep me going until the new Mario game.
too bad N didn't make this game more 'dificult'.......if they wanted to appeal to both younger girls and fans of the mario series with this game, they should have made an "easy" mode that the younger crowd could play.
I might check out this game soon since my bro sold the DS . I hope DS light comes out to the states soon.
Blockbuster only renting PSP games is not their fault. I'm sure they'd rent DS if Nintendo wanted them to.

It's an ok game but dont waste $35 on buying it unless you are rich. If you are hungry for some mario type gameplay just replay super mario 64 DS or wait for New Super Mario Bros.

I definitely am going to pick this up. No matter how easy or short that I hear it is...this game will be fun for however long the duration. Hope it sells well.

Despite it's childish appearance, like all Mario games they play well. This on no different. Loads of fun....
