The whole thing was getting old after Burst Limit and now it's even worse and it doesn't matter if it's raging blast 3 or ultimate tenkaichi, it's gotten old, very old and if you want to make the fans happy make a hd version of lets say DBZ Budokai 3 or DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and everyone will be happy rather than remaking a game and changing a few details each time.
Namco Bandai bringing latest DBZ fighter to 360, PS3 this fall; Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations mobilizing in 2012.
Namco Bandai has been uncharacteristically noncommittal about the title of its next Dragon Ball game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, heretofore referring to the game as simply "Dragon Ball Game Project AGE 2011." However, that opaque stance cleared up today, as the publisher officially attached the moniker of Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi to the game and dated it for October 25.
Like the Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast games, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi will be developed by Spike Co. Ltd. The new game will cover the Dragon Ball Z series and boast "a massive character selection." Namco Bandai is touting the title as "a new landmark game" in the franchise, with a revamped story mode and destructible environments.
Fans of martial arts-themed anime will also be pleased to know that Namco Bandai is prepping a new installment in its Naruto series. Titled Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, the game will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012.
In development at CyberConnect2, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is the latest installment in Namco Bandai's long-running fighting series, and as with the new DBZ title, it will feature a large swath of characters that span every generation of its manga inspiration. This latest installment in the series has a particular emphasis for online play, and it also marks the arrival of fan-favorite ninjas Zabuza and Haku.
@ZOA3DO you are an idiot.... if you want an mmo so damn badly go play that horrible and yet crappy dc universe online.. sorry but many of us aren't trying to pay a monthly fee on top of xbox live fees for a game...
@vengefulwilberg so you're basically saying you'd rather have a game where the gameplay is in rounds like street fighter? cause that's all that budokai 1 was like thanks but no thanks
@MOKLOVIO Thank you. People have to give budokai 3 credit. Budokai 3 can hold its own against the current DBZ next gen titles. Budokai 3 had a nice mix of gameplay. I wish they didn't stop at 3. When I heard the news I was disappointed. Just when atari found something that worked they scrapped it just that fast. Tenkaichi was okay, but I felt it didn't measure up to budokai 3. Burst Limit was nothing compared to Budokai 3. And the tenkaichi games were too much of the same. I am glad that Ultimate Tenkaichi has a gameplay system that is a bit more unique than the other tenkaichi games. The game looks like it is a combination of budokai 3 and tenkaichi. I am looking forward to this game.
i have seen the gameplay of the dbz ultimate tenkaichi and it looks awsome, i also heard there will be character creation. ( i hope). one thing i am concerned about is the amount of characters that will be from the series.... in raging blast they only had dbz characters and there were a lot more dbz characters missing from the series. I hope this game will have great roster from which i can choose.
The thing is, with these games the prices never really go too low and if you don't get it in the first month its extremely rare to get, that is if the game turns out to be good. An example of this Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 its pretty much nowhere to be found and its one of Namco Bandai's most successful game.
OK LISTEN UP....IF THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY AND MAKE THE FANS HAPPY MAKE A DBZ GAME LIKE DC ONLINE UNIVERSE...MAKE YOUR OWN CHARACTER IN STUFF IN DO MISSIONS AND THINGS WITH BURST LIMIT GRAPHICS...THAT WOULD BE THEE BEST :D
I can't remember the name of the last good DBZ game I played but it was above and beyond all the others. I'm pretty sure it for SNES. I want to get the Naruto games but I don't have anyone to play against and I'm afraid I'll get bored really fast. Maybe I'll just wait till the price is way down and get it.
The developers said that this game will have boss fights ( Oozaru and Janemba etc. ) but they will not be playable in versus modes. Ultimate Tenkaichi will also have a free roam mode of some sort and GT characters.
I with MOKLOVIO on this on. Budokai was the best in the DBZ series... When they go back to that then i'll get another DBZ game for me
I'll just wait to see how they are gonna put a new spin on an old idea but in a nutshell I agree with I-Lachlan-I. Different body but still same engine. I hope this will not be the case though . . .
budokai 3 was the best as far as a true fighting game. It had so much replayability, the controls were perfect, the teleportation and dodging were in true DBZ fashion, and my heart raced every time I had to enter rush against a computer or human opponent. The story mode was excellent, the capsule store was impressive, and the voices and art were spot on(for that generation). If they made an HD version with more characters and online play I'm sure it would become the best selling DBZ game ever. I enjoyed DBZT but I still play DBZB3 to this day. Burst limit was good because of the different move sets for each character but it still couldn't touch DBZB3's gameplay. The fanservice in the Tenkaichi/raging blast series was excellent but the gameplay in general allows for spamming and doesn't offer a true fight. It is fun, just not something that Son Goku would be proud of as a fighter. I say make a Tenkaichi with more emphasis on close quarter fighting instead of spamming and some decent online matchup features. Maybe a unique story in which all of them get their power levels put on the same level buy Surpreme Kai just for the sake of seeing who fight the best on an even playing field. Or maybe give all saiyans the ability to reach 4 and everybody else gets the ability to fuse with others up to 2 times to make a stronger character. Anybody out there agree with me or have any other comments or ideas?
For me Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Wii is the number one Dragon Ball game. I would love to see a dbz game with those motion controls and better graphics. Playstation move comes to mind!
Sweet. One fighting game series I love. I don't even like DBZ much, but I love the gameplay of this game. Also Dissidia.
I have seen gameplay of it and I think that this game will be awesome! I just hope that online play has a lot of options and fast, AND MAKE SURE NOBODY CAN PICK A TRANSFORMATION FROM THE START, example: Super Saiyan Goku vs. Tien ( no we know that there is no competition so a person should at least change into super saiyan if they want to be one).. They sould have a whole new story and have all the old stories! It really does not have to have a big roster ( I rather have a more balanced roster than an completely unbalanced roster ) So I think that 50 characters should be enough not including transformations ) It also needs a vast amount of combos for each character ) and That my nfreind is how make a very good DBZ Game!! THE END.. lol haha XD
i think they should stop with tenkaichi they always had overpowered characters that you have to run away and spam ki blasts and it played like crap. bring back some awesome budokai playstyle not this garbage
It looks better than the others and I hope that the stage is distractible as I am expecting. I guess it's good that I dropped out of buying these after the second one on PS2. So I have not been burnt out by all the others. Hope I see more good things.
I know it's "just another" DBZ game.. but I don't care. I buy every DBZ game like I buy every pokemon game.. same or not. :| I'm also getting tired of the same old same old though I have to admit.. I wish they would make exclusive story lines for the games or something.. Why the hell not? You can make SSJ3 vegeta and broly why not an entirely new story? Or atleast put in all the movies and make it very detailed. -_-
DBZ games get boring real fast for me. I may check out Generations though. The original storm was pretty good. havent played the second.
revamped story mode and destructible environments? don't they promote that in almost every new dbz game?

Looks to be more fast paced than Raging Blast. Seems interesting so far but I'm not gonna buy it, I'm tired of DBZ like World War 2 games.
Hmm... I'll wait and see. If it's just another Tenkaichi remake, I might pass. If it does have enough new stuff to qualify as a sequel, maybe. Graphics look awesome, though, and the thought of more complex combo's sounds very tempting. I just hope they make the characters a bit more unique, even if it comes down to having just three character types or something. Also, more what-if characters :D
@ MusashiSensi New story line? Are you kidding me? I guess we should make Star Wars games with new story lines as well. Or any other epic story for that matter. The story CANT change. One thing is making the story MORE like the original and another thing is CHANGING the whole thing. None of the recent games actually took parts out of the real series. Where was the Martial Arts Tournament in Other World? The old Tourny where Goku met Tien? There are plenty of scenes/sections that have been skipped completely.
What we need is a NEW storyline ecause playing the same sagas over & OVER since the early 90's is getting lame, more space to fight (flying above the clouds like in Legends or even stepping out of the atmosphere like Gohan & Krillin did in The Worlds Strongest, I would also like to to be able to fight in the city & have civilians running away or seeing buildings crumble because of the fight. Make a REAL DBZ GAME & STOP THE CRAP!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... behind the scenes to some of the development. shed some light on there thoughts
earlmccormick88 Hate to break it to you but this is gameplay and it looks great! I've not bought a DBZ game in awhile but this one looks tempting!
