Can just everyone stop referring to a computer with Windows installed as a PC and computers with Linux or OSX as a something else... PC, short for Personal Computer... I got 3 PC's in my home.. 2 with Ubuntu 1 with Arch Linux. So what are those if not PC's..? Pshh...
Tim Schafer confirms platforms for upcoming point-and-click game now with voice acting; DRM-free version and closed beta to be offered for backers through Steam.
Double Fine founder Tim Schafer has confirmed platforms for the studio's record-breaking crowd-funded point-and-click adventure game. In a new video update, Schafer announced that Double Fine Adventure will be released on the PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and "certain" Android devices.
Additionally, Schafer said that because "we got a little bit more money than we thought we were gonna get," the game will now feature voice acting. Though the game will ship with only English voices, Schafer also confirmed that in-game text will be translated into French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
Double Fine Adventure will also host a closed beta, which will be accessible exclusively through Valve's digital distribution platform Steam, and only to Kickstarter backers who pledged $15 or more. Lastly, Schafer announced that a digital-rights-management-free version will be made available to those who helped fund the project.
Double Fine's Adventure game made waves when its crowd-funding campaign eclipsed its target of $400,000 in about eight hours. The crowd fund reached over $1 million in its first 24 hours and presently boasts a support tally of $1.86 million with 26 days until the campaign ends.

Sorry I am just a little confused on one thing, is the DRM free version for backers only or will everyone be able to get a copy of it?
@Suikogaiden Running around and killing things isn't the only thing that makes a game fun. Adventure games are great for exploring, solving puzzles, and unraveling mysteries through progressive storyline.
The future of video game development? Interesting stuff. With the increase in connectivity from social media between developers and fans, nothing but good things await. I'm not saying all social media is great, but ones that specifically are designed with the fan in mind are the ones that will last and become most important.
@puchuupuncher Well have any of the people who put money forward asked for a console version? Probably not as point and click adventure games haven't been on consoles since god knows when and, as it was originally envisioned as a PC game, not many people who only play on consoles would have put money forward (except those who just love the idea of a game funded by fans and made for fans). People who put forward money asked for android phone support and they got it. If console gamers want the same then they have to give a little first.
origianlly for pc with a budget of $300,000 for game development.... now $1.86 million.... and not a console version in sight.....unfortunate.
