Diablo co-creator's F2P Marvel RPG launching in Spring 2013

Developer Gazillion Entertainment announces Marvel Heroes will be released this spring for PC; a Mac version of the action RPG is also in the works.
Marvel Heroes, the free-to-play action RPG with MMO elements, will be released this spring for PC. The game is being developed by Gazillion Entertainment, the new studio owned by Diablo and Diablo 2 co-creator David Brevik.
Alongside the announcement, Gazillion is also making available 24 digital Founder Packs for purchase, split across three pricing tiers ranging from £12.99/$19.99/€15.99 to the frankly ridiculous £129.00/$199.99/€159.99 Each offers up various Marvel heroes alongside an assortment of accessories, experience boosts, in-game currency and early access.
Right now, the game will let you drop the cash for Iron Man, Deadpool, Wovlerine, Human Torch, Spider-Man, Ms Marvel, Thor, Captain America, Cable, Cyclops, Black Panther, Colossus, Jean Grey, Hulk, The Punisher and--of course--Rocket Racoon. A Mac version of Marvel Heroes will be made available after the game's Spring 2013 launch.
The full trio of options available in the Marvel Heroes Founders Program:
Starter: There are 16 different Starter Packs available. Each pack includes one of 16 Super Heroes to play at launch, one bonus costume for the chosen hero, £6/€8 of in-game currency and two days head start prior to launch. Each Starter Pack will be available for £12.99/$19.99/€15.99. Premium: There are seven different Premium Packs available that will come equipped with a team of four heroes from across the Marvel Universe, including X-Force, Uncanny X-Men, Marvel Knights, Avengers, Marvel NOW, Marvel Classic and a special Deadpool pack (Why? Because he made us do it). Players will also receive four bonus costumes for their team, £20/€25 in-game currency and four days head start prior to launch. The Premium Pack is available for £39.99/$59.99/€49.99. Ultimate: The optimal value of the Founders Program, the Ultimate Pack includes access to all heroes available in Marvel Heroes at launch, all launch costumes plus four Ultimate Pack exclusive costumes (Maestro Hulk, Wolverine Weapon X, Spider-Man Symbiote and the Iron Man 3 Movie Armor), £32/€40 in-game currency, seven days head start prior to launch, a permanent 5% experience boost, a permanent 5% item find boost, and more. The Ultimate Pack is available for £129.99/$199.99/€159.99.

@Yagami-san You are blatantly WRONG, there is no "pay to win" in Marvel Heroes, at all, period.
Also, the game is FAR more Diablo then MMO.
Are you illiterate or just plain stupid? How are these two permanent bonuses not pay to win for you? Or do you just live in a fantasy.

@GamespotAudio of course ther are always lucky ones have you played diablo 3 recently? Someone buys premium and starts playing 1 week before us all. Because of forementionet bonuses he will get to max lvl faster and earn more money and better loot in the proces. Ergo PAY TO WIN. If this game will be like an other Free to play mmorpgs this means paying for aditional quests and items to experiance the full game content. Of course getting all the visuals and sh*t will be avaliable to a free player but he will neve ever ever be able to compete with a prepaying pay to win guys. NEVER EVER!

You have clearly never once in your life actually played an ARPG.
5%% MF or Exp does not in any way shape or form put you at a direct advantage in a game like this, at all.
In fact, within literally SECONDS of gameplay, I utterly guarantee that another player will get 10X better drops then you will in weeks just by happenstance.
Learn how RNG actually works before you mumble out another incoherent rambling exposing just how clueless you really are.
Also, maybe try out Diablo 2 sometime, its a really great game. Also, let me know how 5%% MF/Exp will provide you with massive benefits in THAT game, ok? Really, I want you to show me the power or "win" those 2 stats will actually give you in that, or ANY OTHER LOOT BASED ARPG ever made? Go ahead, I eagerly anticipate you showing us how much "power" that grants you, either right off, or even over time......
And i'll show you a bagillion others who have gotten better drops and leveled faster then anyone with said bonus within SECONDS.

You can unlock characters, costumes from just playing the game, the game is 100% complete-able without spending a dime.
Heaven forfend the developers try to get paid for their work.
I am in the Closed Beta right now, and let me tell you, if your a fan of Diablo (1 and 2) and a fan of games like Ultimate Alliance, you will LOVE this game.
@GamespotAudio I've been enjoying the beta a lot myself, more than I expected. I agree, it fills that Ultimate Alliance void. That said, those prices are still outrageous. 1 new hero + 2 costumes upwards of $20. I had hoped it would be more comparable to their other game, where $20 can get me much more. They've only said that you can earn heroes in-game, they didn't say you can earn them ALL, and they never stated how hard it will be to do so. If you give players a .000000000000001% chance of something, you can still say that have the opportunity to get it and not be lying. I won't rail on the company until I see what their launch is like, but color me skeptical.

Each package has in game currency included, the $20 ones come with $10 in game currency.
Thats 1 char, and 2 costumes for $10 + another $10 in game for free use.

Is this going to be better than ultimate alliance? I don't see a huge difference except for the fact I'll have to pay more money for it and the gameplay may be slightly worse because it is a MMO.
You all need to do some research. This game IS free to play, completely. You can choose to buy additional costumes, heroes, etc. however you can also unlock them in-game. I'm stoked for this to come out.
@OdinssonThor It has already been clearly stated that all content, all levels, bosses, everything will be available for free.
Again, you do not have to spend a single dime to play all of the content in Marvel Heroes.
You can get Heroes/Costumes from drops in game.

Well, Mr. Brevik had some harsh words for the direction that Diablo 3 took. For the most part I agreed with him, but im also interested in seeing how he fares with his game. We shall see.
I don't see me spending money on this, from what I heard and read the closed playtests were awful.
Perhap I'll be trying out the game first (it's free to play, so there's not much of a risk) before deciding to probably waste money.
@AzatiS They were offering 2500 Beta Keys to Ultimate pack buyers (the $200 one), it sold out in under 1 hour.
