Devil May Cry hits PC January 25

2013 action game will be available digitally through Steam and Origin ten days after console versions launch.

The PC version of DMC: Devil May Cry will launch January 25, Capcom announced today. That's ten days after the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions arrive January 15.

Players can pick up the PC version of DMC: Devil May Cry at retail in Europe, and digitally through Steam and EA Origin in North America and Europe. No mention was made of a retail release for North America.

In addition to traditional keyboard and mouse controls, the PC version of DMC: Devil May Cry will support an Xbox 360 controller and other third-party inputs. The game will also run at 60 frames-per-second, Capcom said. Additionally, those who pick up the game through Steam will find support for cloud saving, achievements, and leaderboards.

I played the DLC of DMC5 and wasn't really impressed. Didn't like the controls. Were a bit too many move input types for a action game (hold this trigger for 4 moves and this trigger plus jump for 4 more moves :/ ). Capcom should sample a page from Platinum's Bayonetta where moves being plentiful didn't equate too complex of of a control scheme.

@shiss27

Only takes a little getting used. It's no Bayonetta but it's still quite intuitive and fun.

 @shiss27 For sure... the DmC demo wasn't good at all. Nothing compared to Bayonetta's controls, etc.

Not interested.  Fire these morons and make the true DMC 5.

I think I'm going to check this one out! I don't like dealing with steam but oh well, as far as the system reqs are concerned maybe it's time for some of you to buy a new PC. I'm running pretty bad ass rig with SLi so I have to worry about that stuff...at least not for a few more years.

@lawfrye

This game runs like butter on meager hardware--like most console ports. I think it's pointless to have a beefy rig these days when just about all console ports (with the rare exception) run phenomenally on 4+ year old hardware.

Have to really respect Capcom for supporting PC gaming too. I just wish the release dates to be same, not year after console release. Ten day isn't bad tho. More developers hopefully come to their senses too.

OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Cartoons.......

The game doesn't look promising but at least I don't have to wait a year to play it and find out for myself.

+1 for Capcom not overlooking PC.

 @digishah Just make sure you try a demo first before you spend your money. I thought it was junk, but who knows... maybe you'll like it? LOL

Well I loved the PC version of DMC4 and I must say I even looked past the horrible PC port of DMC3 so certainly will grab this for the PC.

I liked the demo. This could be a really good game. Looking forward to it.

Now I don't have to wait anymore. Bye bye PS3 version. Steam FTW

i downloaded the demo on 360 was impressed with it so will have to get the game on 360, could get on ps 3 but when a game is multi format i tend to get the 360 version. I stay away from the pc version because i don't have to worry about spec then and weather the game configures to the controlller or not. because i have always disliked mouse and keyboard controls for my games.

I don't get why they changed his hair colour. Can you imagine if someone changed Desmond or Drake's hair colour? :o

Is a 6950 Recommended real? Unoptimized might be a kind way to look at it.

snaketus

 @Joeguy00 If they are using DirectX11 effects, of course it's recommended, but if you can live without them aka console graphics then you should be fine with much lesser GPU.

Ripper_TV

 @Joeguy00 My thoughts precisely! I wanna play it, but devs should be honest with themselves - the game looks ugly as censored. Requiring such a powerful card is a travesty. Lets hope they're being overly cautious.

Never liked DMC in the first place, but this one looks really bad.  I'm hoping they prove me wrong and it kicks ass, but I just don't see it happening.

Kickable

 @2bitSmOkEy it's always been a niche series, to appeal to you who doesn't like the previous they'd have to fuck it up for their target audience.  lol my reply was as unecessary as your comment.

If there's a DLC original Dante skin or something like that, I'd pay for that.

I never thought DMC was good enough to deserve a reboot. Shame Blockbuster went belly up, renting is the only way I'd ever have played this game.

Almost all of the good developers for Capcom have gone and created their own studios.  I think Street Fighter is about as good as we are going to get from Capcom anymore.  Out sourcing DMC to anyone but platinum games was a dumb idea.

I call BS on the recommended 9650, that thing can take anything you throw at it and much, much more. I'll probably pick this up on Steam once it is on sale for like $5 even though it looks terrible lol.

HOLY WHAT THE Recommended AMD Radeon HD 6950 or better!!!

I hope that's the minimum required to run the game at max settings, not at moderate settings.

Awesome, on my birthday :)

I recently replayed DMC 3 and 4 and I was so pissed again cuz of the non-existent camera control; I do hope they remember to assing camera control to the right stick this time.
