Development ramps up on FFXII

Square continues work on the next game in the Final Fantasy series.
Square has updated its site with some general development information on Final Fantasy XII, including information on staff members heading up individual parts of the project. Akihiko Yoshida will be the lead 3D director on Final Fantasy XII, and his past projects include character design for Final Fantasy Tactics and background design for Vagrant Story. The lead 2D designer also worked on background art for Final Fantasy Tactics as well as art for Final Fantasy IX. The planner for Final Fantasy XII, Jun Akiyama, has done production work for Vagrant Story and Kingdom Hearts.
