Square Enix also reports that David Anfossi, who worked on Deus Ex: Human Revolution as executive producer, has been promoted to Eidos Montreal's studio head. He will oversee the production of Thief, which is due out for current- and next-generation platforms in 2014, and the two unannounced games.

Eidos Montreal is also currently working on Deus Ex: The Fall for iOS, and a multiplatform release of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut alongside its Wii U debut later this year.

Anfossi will also work with Darrell Gallagher, newly appointed head of studios at Square Enix and former studio head at Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics.

Square Enix is currently realigning its Western studios as part of a costly global restructuring process. Earlier this week, it was announced that IO Interactive has been reduced by half and will now concentrate solely on Hitman games.

Square Enix's Japanese studios are currently working on, among others, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
