Dead to Rights: Reckoning golden
Namco's third-person shooter series now primed to make its PSP debut on June 28.
Just under two months after its existence was inadvertently revealed by an online retailer, Dead to Rights: Reckoning has gone gold. Like its console forebears, the first PSP iteration of the third-person shooter series is rated M for Mature. It retails at a suggested $39.99.
The second handheld Dead to Rights after last year's universally panned Game Boy Advance version, Reckoning is a sequel to the original PlayStation 2/Xbox game. It will follow the further adventures of series antihero Detective Jack Slate. Along with his faithful dog, Slate must again venture into the underworld of the crime-plagued metropolis of Grant City.
Dead to Rights: Reckoning features a dozen original levels, as well as 13 weapons fans will be familiar with from previous games, including an assortment of pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles. It will also feature the series' signature slow-motion action and two-fisted gunplay, along with the new prone position and dive-tackle disarm move. GameSpot's hands-on provides a more in-depth look at the game.
Developed and published by Namco, Dead to Rights: Reckoning is slated to ship on June 28.
