Dead Rising 3 to tackle illegal immigration - Report
Official Dead Rising Facebook page teases new Frank West adventure; Siliconera reports entirely new protagonist for Dead Rising 3.
Although Capcom's latest entry into zombie action franchise Dead Rising arrived on North American shores just two months ago, it now appears at least one more zombie outbreak is on the way.
Earlier today, the publisher's official Dead Rising Facebook page offered up an intriguing new post hinting at Dead Rising protagonist Frank West's "new adventure":
"I'm getting packing for my new adventure - camera, notebook and baseball bat. What else would I need for a break in paradise? - Frank", the Facebook wall post reads.
Now, Siliconera is reporting the existence of Dead Rising 3. Citing an unnamed source, the report claims the game will take place in a fictional town known as Los Perdidos, California, where a characteristic zombie outbreak has closed off the town's borders. ("Los perdidos" is Spanish for "the lost ones.")
Interestingly, according to the report, the protagonist of Dead Rising 3 will not be Frank West. Instead, the game will supposedly center on a Los Perdidos-based auto mechanic named Rick, whose plan is to restore a plane and escape the town before it is destroyed. The report states that finding parts for the plane and getting it to fly will be one of the main features of the game, and that it will also feature "an undercurrent of themes about illegal immigration."
After starring in the original 2006 Dead Rising, photojournalist protagonist Frank West recently appeared in October's Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, as well as the Dead Rising 2: Case West DLC pack.
When asked about the Dead Rising 3 report, a Capcom representative told GameSpot, "We have made no announcements."
