Dead Rising 2 reanimated Off the Record

Loved the chuck green one . cant wait for spin off :D If it has different stuff (new combos , new story)and better new feature in multiplayer . I wont mind a new retail copy :v

Okay... If this is DLC, GREAT, I am grabbing this thing the day it comes out as I love Dead Rising. But if it's a full-blown retail game... I'm not sure on how I would react to it. If it turns out to be the latter, I really do hope there's at least some kind of demo release for us to try. If it were retail and no demo were released, I'd probably hold off until reviewers get their hands on it and give the rest of us a heads up. Going to have to sit on this one, as there's not even a release date. Not worth worrying about at the MOMENT, so to speak, so long as they take their time developing it. Essentially the way they're making it sound is as if it is an alternate story within the same city, same characters, except alternate protagonist, and they patched all the issues that occurred with the original DR2's co-op and save system... I know it's supposed to be a "What if this happened instead" story, but given the events of DR2: Case West, it doesn't fit, as a result it feels like they're churning this one out just so people feel that there isn't too long a wait between Dead Rising games, like there was with the first one. Dead Rising was in 2006, and the second game was 2010. That's a pretty long time between games, but it means they took a lot of care in making it. And from what I saw there WERE improvements to load times in case west. Given how long the load times are on case zero (Where it's inexcusable) it's good. Not sure what other improvements they could possibly make.

i liked dead rising 2 was much fun in coop mode and i never had and probs with coop mode. A what if story doesnt need to be bad i think it will be a whole new game ok a spinoff of the part 2 but which new part of which serier isnt ust a fixup of the last version with some extra new content? (o.O ok at Dawn of War but 1 Part was way cooler then the second) As informed persons also knew is that the prequel and the end addition wich was dlc didnt cost a full game price. I will look up for this game and i think it will be worth the money as dr2 was

this better not be full price, no way im buying the same game again with a few extras thrown in im also gonna wait and see if they have fixed the co-op or not because it was a complete joke in Dead Rising 2

Wow. So this isn't DLC? That is probably the most money grabbing stunt I've ever seen a game company do. Basically they have taken DR:2, made a 'new' skin, brought back the camera, and wrote some new dialogue? Shocking, truely shocking.

i love DR1 an DR2 and the DLC this ( as well as Deadspace, RE, Condemed , silent hill , etc) so i will most likeley be getting this. my 1 and only complaint is i wish i could have the option of turning the blasted timer off!!! ( lol) but i guess it what makes DR different then the rest

Meh. I like Chuck better. Frank is awesome and all, but the series has room for two protagonists. Gameplay refinements seem nice, but I'm not keen on the idea of replacing the hero in a game that already had a compelling story. I will only get this game if the "new mode" is Dead Rising 1 with co-op.

This should be priced at $39.99 or $25 on XBL. If it's full price, I won't get it. It's the same games as DR2, but with Frank West and some extras thrown in.

i just watched the interview...this better NOT be $60...ill get it eitherway im sure, but i still have Gears 3 and Skyrim around that time...

i LOVE zombie games and i LOVE Dead Rising, i honestly love Chuck more than Frank (doesnt mean i hate Frank, i just dont like the camera XD) but im a sucker for "what-if" storys, i just hope this isnt a full $60 disc game, hopefully its just some kinda DLC Expansion like those GTA IV games (never played so dont dis me) Overall story is...im so getting this! =D and yes, im a TRUE DR fan, played and own 1,2,CZ and CW so yea, wootness!

Wow they are really trying to squeeze everything out of this game they can without just making a better new one. The controls and paper mache weapons need a serious reworking imo. The humorous novelty wore off in an hour or two.

As long as it adds something new to the levels, then I'll go for it. But it'll feel pretty crummy doing the same old areas again, and PC users still miss out on the DLC...

Well if it has a new story, new bosses, missions, weapons,enviroments and all that stuff, as well as the old enviroments returning, i dont see why people think this is going to be DR2 exactly with just a pallete swap of Frank. I am hoping that it will be something of Assassins Creed Brotherhood quality, becuase i remember calling that a blatant ripoff of AC2 before it came out, but it was the best AC yet. So i wouldnt be surprised if it was a full priced game honestly, but it probably should be 40 at most since DR2 is going down in price, and i kind of like the idea of a what if.

Never touch dead rising 2 mainly because chuck green was pissin me off. If this is a $30 re-release, capcom you have my support.

I like Dead Rising as much as the next guy, but this sounds like a way to just get more money. Swapping out Greene for West and maybe throwing together some new bad guy. I might have to pass.

I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for this series. But I agree with @Frame_Dragger - I want a meaty tie-in like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood rather than small, gradual "refinements" seen in the annual Call of Duty game. Interesting to see which of those two games this one-year turnaround title will emulate. If they really have addressed the incredibly long load times and brought forth some fun gameplay enhancements I'll probably buy it.

Wow isn't this a pleasant surprise Dead Rising 2 was a load of fun especially co-op so I'll definitely be picking this up can't wait.

I don't mind an enhanced "director's cut" for a game as long as they actually do make improvements where their needed, so I may pick this up, as long as it's not too overpriced. But, Capcom being Capcom, they'll probably try charging us $40 for this -_-;

it is onli in disc no dlc thtas too bad the game is good but for the owners of ps3 we dont have the caze zero o the cast west dlc . now they dont put this dr2 off record . to bad capcom

Soo..? They should have done this from the beginning. How much sense does 2 Chuck Greens make for co-op? Chuck Green + Frank West + Camera Feature = No **** sherlock. Hopefully they incorporate both characters for a more believable co-op experience, like in Case West.

hmm seems like an easy money making scheme BUT i loved DR2 and being able to play as frank (and hopefully he gets his much better and cooler fighting skills from DR1) with a new story and stuff will be nice so il more then likely buy it

Cool i actually missed taking pictures of all the funny and awkward moments in the game. Release it at a discount price say 30-40$ and i'll pick it up.

Cool. Frank west is so much cooler then Chuck Green, and the photography is kinda cool, so this could be great. @eyebrowless: Although, you'll probably still have to get Zonbrex in this game though, since Frank West is infected as well.

@RedWave247: That's a good point, I bet they would like to give PS3 owners the Case titles too. Since it's not a Director's cut, I get the feeling they are going to pull another Super SFIV and charge $40 for a substantively revamped game. At least that would be an acceptable option for many fans.

Dead Rising is my favorite game on the 360. I absolutely love it. When I heard about the sequel I was totally psyched for it, but when it came out, I wasn't very excited about the new game very much. I didnt like that you had to get medicine for that guy's daughter, I didn't like that they barely improved the save system, and I wasn't even much excited for the co-op (which is what I wanted for DR1 for the longest time). So, I didnt buy the game, and I'm SOOO happy I waited. This is the game I've been waiting for! The return of the photography system, improved weapons and enemies, and most importantly; The Return of Frank West!! Day 1 buy

Enhancement in coop to me means coop split-screen, otherwise i'll pass

So developpers either reuse the same 5 maps every where in the game (Dragon Age 2) or the give us the map of the previous game as a "new" game. I fear gaming is not going in the right direction...

I dont know if I will get this, Deadrising is a good series but I got bored of Deadrising 2 very quickly and nearly had to force myself to finish it.

If we're very lucky (likely not), we'll get Case Zero and Case West on the same disc. That's probably just wishful thinking, since as a PS3 owner, I haven't played either. Still, I'll definitely be picking this up.
