Dead Island Riptide Zombie Bait edition revealed

I'm a huge horror fan in general (Excited for Glasgow Frightfest next month) and was actually somewhat excited by the torso... Not in THAT way... pfft :)

It would've fit quite well with my collection of horror memorabilia... *shrugs*

This (statue) doesn't appeal to me in the slightest cuz I'm a bit squeamish, but I got no problem with it.  Different strokes for different folks ya dig?

This is a stupid idea while the video game industry is under the microscope for being blamed for why crazy white boys commit mass murder.

They should of added some waterfall action.  Breast Implant sticking out the side ripped open.  Water running down the side from it. 

What is with all you sissies?!! You people play violent and grotesque games every day. It's a shredded torso for a ZOMBIE GAME!!! And the reason it's a womans' torso is most likely because 85% of gamers are male. And if the boobs were ripped up, it would be way more gruesome and probably banned everywhere. If you don't like it... fine. Just don't whine about it like it's offensive. If you're offended by this awesome statue then you need to be living in a bubble.

I will state the same thing I stated elsewhere...  Yeah, I gotta agree with you (terminalgamer.com).  I don't know how fans of the game can possibly call this offensive or gruesome.  I'm a woman, and a fan of the game (just put in about 4 hours last night), and if I'm offended by anything, it's a company wanting to charge me a boatload of money for some super special limited edition with a bunch of crap I don't need.  I just want the damned game.  

I have read the comments of innumerable people on several gaming sites, and I'm rather surprised by all the backlash.  Intent is a large part of anything, and when this edition was announced, Deep Silver stated the statue is a "grotesque take on an iconic Roman marble torso sculpture."  Now whether you think it's in good taste or bad, I'm not sure how you can really take offense by it.  You spend 99% of your time in-game hacking the hell out of zombies.  There are usually hunks of male and female zombies on the ground when you're finished, that look just like the statue.  For heaven's sake people, that's all it is...just an imagine from your game.  There is no political, or sexist meaning behind it.  I TOTALLY get people not liking it.  I just don't get their reasoning behind it.

I just want good ole zombie slaying. I, for one, cannot wait for this game. Sure the 1st one had a few glitches, but damn did it have potential! I am excited about this one. Hope it KILLS!

not getting it, the statue is a stupid marketing ploy for men that most zombie aficionado and collectors wouldnt want because its not focused on zombies, its a pair of undamaged big boobs with cuts and blood around them.

Ok, I won't call him pretentious with the comparation, i'll just say it's a little of bad taste. I'm all for boobs and gore in my games but when they combine it like this... I'll go for the standard Ed.

Using a half-naked and decapitated woman's torso to market your game just isn't something that sits well with me.  I don't know.  Maybe this will somehow increase their sales, but I know they've lost at least one sale, as I can only speak for myself.  As someone who has been gaming for 30 years, this is exactly the kind of shit we don't need to be seeing in the industry right now. 

That statue will definitely sell millions of copies of the game XD

What is so great about this statue??? I dont see why ppl like this thing. I'm not grossed out or offended in any way. I think its stupid though. Just give me the game. The statue isnt neccessary.

That statue makes no sense whatsoever, it's like mixing Ice-cream with Pizza... One thing deprives the other just looking at it. Modern Mona Lisa is so messed up it's not even art anymore. I'll stick to old art thank you very much...

I never had any interest in playing the first game but that statue makes me wish I lived in the UK right now. That thing is just as awesome and gory as some of the props in the Frazetta's costume/halloween shop near me. It's owned by Frank Frazetta's son so you see some pretty sweet stuff in there.
