David Hayter says he wasn't asked to voice MGSV
[UPDATE] Longtime Snake voice actor says Konami did not ask him to reprise role in upcoming Metal Gear Solid game; Kojima confirms Hayter won't return.
[UPDATE] Speaking with GameTrailers, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima confirmed that David Hayter will not return for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but declined to comment on his replacement.
"It's a new type of Metal Gear game and we wanted to have this reflected in the voice actor as well," Kojima said."

Longtime Snake and Big Boss voice actor David Hayter may not return for the just-announced Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
After the game's announcement today, Hayter tweeted, "Well look, at least I had a good run." Asked if he was approached to reprise his role, he bluntly stated, "Nope."
Game director Hideo Kojima revealed today that Metal Gear Solid V is both Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain combined. Konami also has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V is due out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though a release date was not provided.
Hayter also wrote the screenplay for 2000's X-Men.
