This is one of the only two game series that i bought and don't feel ripped off as soon as i get it I really just want more gameplay time. Cant wait for new dlc and/or new game.

Namco Bandai reveals Artorias of the Abyss expansion included in Prepare to Die PC version hitting consoles this winter for $15; Steam version confirmed.
Console gamers seeking to slay new monsters and wield new weapons in Dark Souls are in luck. Namco Bandai has revealed to IGN that the Artorias of the Abyss expansion included with this summer's Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC will also come to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Due out this winter for 1,200 MS points on Xbox Live and $15 on the PlayStation Network, the Artorias of the Abyss expansion brings additional explorable areas, more bosses and standard enemy types, non-player characters, and equipment.
Additionally, the site reports that the upcoming Prepare to Die edition of Dark Souls--due August 24--will be available in North America through Steam. Previously, only Microsoft's Games for Windows Live service was confirmed, which had thousands of gamers up in arms, decrying it as "unpopular," "inconvenient," and "difficult to use."
Dark Souls was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October 2011 to a glowing critical reception. It went on to ship more than 1.5 million units worldwide and was October's sixth-best-selling title.

to everyone complaining about the DLC coming after the PC version. Be thankful they are expanding the franchise to the PC and consider they likely have limited development bandwidth and had to get the PC stuff out the door first. Remember, they weren't going to port to the PC but did so as a service to the fans so quit decrying them for trying to make everyone happy. Thats impossible. I can't wait for the DLC and don't give a damn that i have to pay $15. I'd gladly pay $50
1 Like I thought I was loosing interest in gaming. Then I played Demon's Souls. And it reminded me that games CAN be a work of art if done correctly. Software deserves all the money in the world to continue to make these games. While everyone else are going casual, Software says f that. Hardcore gaming rests on their shoulders. May they carry that through generations.
4 Like Demons Souls (2009), Dark Souls (2011), ... Souls (2013). Right?! I can´t wait for that! The most hardcore games ever, not for everyone.
1 Like @CaptainSam souls games seem to have an end to each of them so possibly a new DS game. Dragons Souls, Damned Souls, Dead Souls... From Software through Atlus this time i hope.
@leviathanwing @CaptainSam Hmmm... Does it have to be a D word? What about Lost Souls?... or Forgotten Souls? I do kinda like "Dragon's Souls" though. Especially since Dark Souls is a prequel to Demon's Souls and the story begins with the war against the Dragons... it kinda makes sense. It could be another prequel for the story before Dark Souls. Dude, you're a genius!
7 Like Well I can say with a pretty good certainty that Demon's Souls and Dark Souls have been better than pretty much everything else combined in a long life of gaming. I love From Software with all my heart and hope they continue their path of gaming glory! These really are the perfect games.
@shadgrindk Agreed... I love both games so much I'm willing to overlook the fact that their PC port was done with as little effort as possible and they're boning the console players by milking them for an extra $15 for what the PC players get for regular price. Honestly, the games are that good.
@EvilShabazz @shadgrindk look at it this way...by paying $15 perhaps the revenue form the DLC will be enough to justify a 3rd title. honestly, I'd prepay $500 for a third game in this series and mark the calendar in anticipation whilest planning to take a month off from work to play it. These games are like crack to me I simply cant get enough. EFF COD series and Diablo 3 garbage I want more Soul please!!

@Rovelius @EvilShabazz @shadgrindk actually there would have been no dlc... from software does not believe in them. a game is complete and then its released. not to be released and then completed later... in an interview related to DS and DkS archived somewhere.
they just announced that october 26 will be the DLC release date for other consoles good job making us wait two months for the DLC by that time ill be getting resident evil 6 and forget about dark souls
@ChickenCrimpy @Ecull20 actually it wouldn't be my loss because i love dark souls dont get me wrong but i beat it 40 times already and same stuff over and over again the game is way to easy now and the resident evil games have been around longer and the new one comes out when the dark souls dlc comes out then after i beat resident evil 6 i pre ordered black ops 2 and also getting halo 4 so yea im gonna buy the dlc for dark souls beat it really fast over and over again and then move on to the other games and beat those thats until they make another souls game in the series
3 Like those complaining about price and wait time, plz stop and think, use a lil common sense, if u own on console, chances are your going to wait for dlc, not buy pc version, people that just so happen to own both are prolly those folks that obtain pc v. illegally. those unlucky pc owners who had to wait this long to play what is in my opinion one of the best games out is... well exactly that.... a looonng wait... so if i have to wait a few months for some dlc (which i can play with my lvl 446 pyro) ,guess im just happy they are bringing to consoles
Also. I heard they fixed the problem with Blight Town's frame rate on the PC. Does anyone know if it's possible that they could make a patch to fix it on the consoles as well? I ask because I'm not very tech savvy.

I agree with you assshooter_2 even though i dont own a PS3 the game should still release for that console and the xbox 360 because those are the main consoles and demon souls started the series on PS3 so it really dont make sense why PC gets early release And i read a rumor that said DLC wont come out till October i dont know if its a lie or the truth but hope its a lie
@Ecull20 You guys don't get it right? No matter what the game is, it's all "profit deal." If microsoft will pay big bucks for a short time exclusive, well, they will. Why FROM would say no when they will make more money? They are doing everything to make profit and give us the good stuff. I don't care how and when they will release the PS3 dlc. I know I will buy it too.
Okay, so the PC gets DLC and the base game for 40 dollars, and us console fans pay 75? Wow.
You'd think PS3 would get it first, considering that's where the Soul's series started.

@assshooter_2 Well isn't how it always is? Don't buy Fallout 3 at release. Wait a year or two, then you can buy Fallout 3 "game of the year" edition or something which has all the DLC with it, or Resident Evil 5 Gold edition, etc. Most likely same thing will happen with Dark Souls, eventually the "Prepare to die edition" will come out on the consoles, but not before the DLC has been out for some time and all those sorry saps, myself included, cannot wait for the disc version with base game to come out, so we shell out money for the DLC. It's all a very clever way to get as much money as possible, that's all it ever is
@assshooter_2 However, wouldn't you rather give these guys a little extra money (we receive more money and content) and they earn extra income which will hopefully show them we want more games like this and not rehashed FPS games. They are already doubting making a sequel to the game.
i think its dumb that the pc gets it early release and Xbox 360/PS3 have to wait longer for the release of the DLC i went and bought a card yesterday then found out DLC aint coming out might as well go buy DLC for MW3 or Black Ops
cant wait for the DLC i beat the game 13 times already and nothing more to do the bosses and enemies are so easy to kill now l i hope they put harder enemies with high attributes so the game gets hard to beat again i heard there is gonna be more equipment and an arena to have PvP battles and they did a interview and said you have to access the DLC by finding it in the story line somewhere
@Ecull20 Did you try making different characters? For example, a character with 99 strength, another with 99 int, another with 99 faith. My current character I'm working on is a build based on the Greatsword of Artorias so I can be Artorias too.

@GizMo1114 Ya know, the fact we have to pay extra for the DLC is fine IMO for this game. What I believe unacceptable though, is they're trying to make me buy the PC version at 39.99. It's unbelievable that they would not release PS3 and Xbox versions at the same time. I spent so many hours on my PS3 version (all trophies earned + many new game pluses) that I don't really want to start over completely. It's like forcing me to forget about all the work I did on my PS3 if I want to play it now. *sigh* by the end of the day my inner gamer self will probably succumb and buy it on PC ... must resist...
1 Like As someone who has played through both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls several times, this makes me happy. I always thought they should have made DLC for Demon's Souls (the broken 6th Archstone). Now that they are expanding upon Dark Souls (my personal favorite game in recent memory, if not of all time), I can't wait to find out what many dangers lie ahead in the Prepare to Die Edition content. 1 Like I'm a PC gamer, so I'm really happy that they decided to release this game on PC since I don't own a PS3, I borrowed a friends to play Demon Souls, but I'm also quite pleased they didn't keep the content PC exclusive. I hate it when a game has exclusive content on specific a platform, especially when the initial platform(s) are the ones getting the short end of the stick.
FINALLY. I've heard the platform gamers call this game 'challenging'. That's a rarity and a treasured rarity. Glad we're sharing with the PC this time.
One of the rare few games I've beaten twice and that's because of the ending. Don't light the last bonfire.
Loved this game... ran out of patience on the end guy though.... maybe this will inspire me to go back.

@pinoy1579 the wolf was nothing for me, but the 2 brothers and the hidden boss with the soul attacks, bloody hell, i stopped counting... lol... oh and what was the name of the $;$@@$@$@@ in the black pit...
@chang_1910 @pinoy1579 i heard people said the four kings difficult, but somehow i can easily beat them the first time i met them without die. But i died so many times versus sir wolf maybe because my level too low when i confront him.
