I'm hoping this game comes out before my birthday. This would make a very nice birthday present. :)
Dark Souls dated for October
Successor to Demon's Souls slated for September in Japan; European/US launch slated for October.
Gamers waiting for the successor to GameSpot's 2009 Game of the Year won't have to wait too long, particularly if they are living in Japan. Developer From Software said in the latest issue of Famitsu that the anticipated sequel to Demon's Souls will be out in Japan this September. The action role-playing game will retail for 7,800 yen ($96).
The European and US version of the game will be out in "early October," according to Namco Bandai. Dates for other territories have yet to be revealed.
The action RPG is set in a dark fantasy world with a huge focus on tension in dungeon exploration and punishing-but-fair difficulty. New features in Dark Souls include the ability to dual-wield weapons and summon non-player characters during battle, more variations and improvements in co-op mode, and new outdoor areas that are seamlessly connected to one another.
