I hope their next game will be Crysis 3 with DirectX 11 support in from the start. That way, by the time it comes out, I should have a system capable of handling it !!!
Crytek's Warface turns West in 2012

Crysis studio bringing CryEngine 3-built free-to-play shooter to PC in North American, European markets next year.
Crytek will apparently be showing its Warface to more than just Asian markets. As part of Gamescom 2011 today, the German studio said that it will be the releasing the free-to-play online shooter, which will be available for PCs in Western markets in 2012.
After a trademark application for Warface turned up in the US Patent and Trademark Office in mid-2009, Crytek announced the game for release in Asia late last year. Players will be able to engage in near-future military missions in class-based competitive modes, as well as cooperative environments. The studio intends to deliver fresh content to the game on a regular basis.
Crytek, which is most widely known for tech-savvy shooter Crysis, is building Warface using its CryEngine 3 game software. According to Crytek president and CEO Cevat Yerli, the design of the game is to craft "the next-gen of free-to-play shooters that are on par with traditional AAA games in terms of quality."
The studio also said that it will be "starting with a strong partner in Asia," in order to hammer out the kinks in its free-to-play business model. Crytek's Kiev studio is leading development on the project, with Crytek Seoul and Crytek Frankfurt coproducing.

damn crysis days the first one of course the second one was a pc gamer hater we were loyal and the didn't care about that i hope this is better also Farcry 3 crytek ubisoft looks a lot better than crysis 2

I've played a few good free-to-play games, but never an FPS. I hope they can do it right. I'll give it a shot.
Anything with a microtransaction business model isn't worth your time. You'll have much more fun and get much more value for your money if you just buy retail games.

Crytek showed this to the Eastern markets before the Western ones? They have not understood that the Asians are not huge fans of first person shooters in any form and instead enjoy games along the lines of Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, Starcraft and so on. And with the large amount of excellent titles that are going to be available in 2012, I doubt people in the West will enjoy this also. Crytek may have got something on Crysis, but that does not mean all of their games are going to be good because of a visually powerful graphics engine.
this should be interesting, will this be cheaply made since it's a free to play game or will they be using this as an opportunity to demo the CryEngine 3's capabilities by utilizing the best of the PC's potential without designing things around console limitations, guess we'll see
In other words CryEngine 3 is a downgrade of CryEngine? It has to be if it is to run on enough machines to support the free-to-play model. Btw, why haven't I seen them licensing their engine out to other developers? They could easily have made as much money as their games do through the licenses - and people would have FLOCKED to a genuine alternative to Unreal Engine. I'd rather have them trying to push the boundaries of PC graphics, with other games benefiting from their effort, than expanding their market presence through free-to-play type games. They are awesome with their technology, they need to milk it hard and continue to invest more effort in the actual technology! Btw, @editors, typos happen all the time, but 'teh' in place of 'the' is unacceptable. As if enough people don't do that on purpose already. Also: "...will apparently be showing its Warface...." Nice.
Crytek and PC exclusive usually means a good thing.Only I dont like F2P concept too much,because most of the time they are too microtransactions dependant.But only time will tell,for now,Im interested.
