Counter-Strike still the top multiplayer game
The Half-Life-powered shooter holds on to number one in iGames' latest list of most popular multiplayer games.
Game center organization iGames has released its list of the most popular multiplayer games for March 2002. The list, which is a compilation of the most popular games being played at more than 150 game centers across North America, ranks Sierra's team-based shooter Half-Life: Counter-Strike at number one, followed by Blizzard's action role-playing game Diablo II at number two. Third place went to Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, EA's World War II shooter, and fourth place went to Starcraft, Blizzard's sci-fi real-time strategy game. Sony's massively multiplayer online role-playing game, EverQuest, took fifth place.
