Distinctions between this and Battlefield 3. Counter Strike always provide hella fun? creative multiplayer maps. Hopefully customizable maps are allowed in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as it has in the past. All Battlefield 3 got is just gorgeous graphics.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pushed to summer
Valve confirms downloadable Hidden Path-developed entry in shooter series will miss its early 2012 release window.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive missed its original beta testing window, and the shooter is similarly skipping its planned early 2012 release.
Speaking with Kotaku yesterday, Valve spokesperson Doug Lombardi confirmed that the downloadable first-person shooter is now scheduled for a summer launch on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac.
When it arrives, Global Offensive will feature new game modes, weapons, maps, and characters for the franchise. Additionally, gamers will be able to fight on updated versions of original Counter-Strike maps (including de_dust), and Global Offensive will support matchmaking and leaderboards.
The Counter-Strike franchise has sold more than 25 million units in a little over 12 years. Global Offensive is currently in development at Valve Software and Hidden Path Entertainment, which also codeveloped 2004's Counter-Strike: Source.
