Child-friendly Ubisoft title will feature point-and-click minigames; Ubisoft-Barcelona-developed game set for mid-2007 release.
As one of the leading publishers of full-sized retail games for the Wii, Ubisoft has shown much love for Nintendo's new console. The love affair continues, as the French company has announced that it is developing Cosmic Family for the Wii. Developed by Ubisoft's Barcelona studio, the Cosmic Family will be released in mid-2007. The game is being aimed at young children and features "an interactive tour of Cosmic Family's action-packed rocket." There will be 15 minigames to choose from, which range from piloting a rocket into space to brushing a monster's teeth. Ubisoft previously released a series of Cosmic Family edutainment games for the PC.
i need my blooooddd gutsss and shootttiinngg fix.. guess ill be on 360 for now then.. waiting for a killer app like goldeneye was for the 64.
Nintendo needs to start bringing more games to the Wii that don't have just minigames. It's been fun for a while, like on the Gamecube and N64, but now's the time for them to take that next step forward.
it isnt the lack of games itself... its the poopy STYLE of the games. everyone knows that companies are just cranking junk out right now to say "i have something on Wii."well, we KNOW that the graphics can be boosted up considerably, and gameplay CAN be enthralling. I am not into minigames, so i guess im missing out on a good variety of Wii titles, but i DONT EXPECT COMPANIES to keep cranking out MINIGAMES!
I'm not concerned about it being a title for younger audiences. We need more of those, not less. I AM concerned that it's just a bunch of mini-games. This is going to be a huge problem for the Wii. Most people want a good, solid game, not a collection of PopCap crap.
Man I can't beleive the amount of complaining idiots on this site. Yes Nintendo has alot of kiddy games on it - and what's wrong with that, you were all kids at some point, and we need games to keep the kids happy as well. Yes more mature games would be fine, but you can't blame Nintendo for wanting to cater for kids as well. But it's not like there are no mature games on the Wii Redsteel Zelda:TP Call Of Duty 3 Farcry (Even though it sucks) Splinter cell The list goes on The Godfather is being released for the system, so it's not like there are NO mature age games on the system. If you want more blood and guts, go play those games on the Xbox and playstation. If you want fun games that all your mates can play with ya then play the Wii. If you not happy with the Wii there's a pretty simply sollution - DON'T PLAY IT!!! Anyway yeah each to their own. I bought the Wii on the release day and have not had second thoughts about it once. Keep up the great work Nintendo!
They need bloody guts and gore, with scary creepy music and scenery, and lots of full head on swearing to make it fun for grown ups... right? ...right? Don't think so.
Please more mature games, you already have the younger audience, but you need to focus on the older consumers, who still aren't sure whether or not this is another kids system
Well...thinking about it...why the hell is this considered as news anyway? Its obvious that any animated movie will be turned into a game! Its like posting "EA will release Madden 2008" as news.
Someone better tell Nintendo to stop making 3rd party companies make stuff like this. Kid friendly is all good, but if Ubisoft keeps this up, Nintendo seriously needs to stop them and get to work on a good game that'd be Wii exclusive. A game that would be like the Splinter Cell for the Wii, not saying to be Splinter Cell, but a game of great popularity like that by Ubisoft. That's my two cents on Ubisoft and the Wii.
Not for anything - I'm glad the wii is getting lots of support, but come on -- enough of these "Mini Game" based titles. Are companies that pathetic that they can't come up with a "one big game" concept that works around the Wii? Instead, we get what apears to be easy to write tech demos slapped together on one CD. Red Steel had the right direction, but it just wasn't a stand-out game. Seriously though, now that WarioWare SM is released, all other "mini games" will be pale by comparsion anyway, so move the hell on with some thought and innovation!! Take some risks !
"Ubisoft has shown much love for the wii" BS! the most love they've shown for nintendo is half-ass work.
So far from all the titles Ubisoft has made for the Wii, Rayman is by far the best one, the rest are poor. By the way OfficalBed, you insult NIntendo even though your pic is of DK from Super Mario Kart.
Cute. At least we are getting new titles every week. Sony fans are still talking about the same games since E3 2005.
im sick of hearing crap news like this...i mean a children's game is the last thing the wii needs right now much less another crap ubi title
Do we need anymore children's/kids titles for the Wii...? What happened to more mature titles as promised?
