Commandos 3 goes gold
Eidos' tactical WWII RTS to storm stores October 15.
Today Eidos confirmed Commandos 3: Destination Berlin will be the next addition to the crowded WWII real-time strategy genre. The game will storm stores on October 15, with an MSRP of $49.99. Those preordering the game from EBGames.com will receive a free copy of its predecessor, Commandos 2: Men of Courage. Commandos 3 is also the first title to feature Eidos' new PC-game packaging, a DVD keep case like the one console games come in.
Developed by Spain's Pyro studios, Commandos 3 lets players go behind enemy lines with a dirty half-dozen Allied commandos. Each commando has his own specialty and a variety of combat modes. Though the game will feature a smaller cast than Commandos 2, it will have more levels, ranging from a Saving Private Ryan-like Normandy invasion to an Enemy at the Gates-esque sniper battle in Stalingrad. Peruse our earlier coverage of the game for more details.
