I'm just curious to see which game sells the most over time. MW2 or NSMBWii. It's one thing to make the top 20 one month. The true test comes if you stay on the chart for months on end. Which games did that? Mario Kart Wii, the first NSMB, Wii Fit, Wii Play and all the so called "hardcore" games fell off the chart after a month or so. The race begins to see which game has true staying power.

No surprise the biggest PS3 exclusive of the year only stayed in the top 20 for one month. If you don't think that is important than you really have no idea how the world works. Cheers to Borderlands for making the Top 20 for the 2nd month in a row.

@thorsen-ink i understand but i was replaying to those who say : "do people really think this game can outsell modern warfare 2?? thi game wont even break 5 mil" that is from an real comment from a guy bashing FF13 not selling 5m . WM2 is a great game, i hate to see such people to use the sales of anything just to hate other great products that didnt sell much.

@kamizuka Because sales figures & rankings are hard facts in an industry where publishers try to spin everything. We're not trying to stoke anything, just reporting the winners and losers for the month. @jazilla @Tremblay343 Because it doesn't include steam sales (mentioned in article) NPD is super sensitive about PC sales numbers, so they only release PC rankings.

Wow,Uncharted 2 is going out the same way every other PS3 game does.

i just played and finished COD. first thing some of the 360 fanboys say that KZ2 have no story, but they said nothing about COD. the action is tight(awesome) lots of enemys easy to kill yet i didnt see a difference between the last 2. Hype can do wonders but

You know, why do they keep doing these articles on sales figures, when as a gamer, I could care less. They should keep these stupid stories to the business sites.

I honestly gotta say. Aion was the biggest MMORPG joke in history. I bought the collectors edition of the game thinking it was going to be the best one yet. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was quite possibly the worst waste of $75 I've ever spent in my life. Thanks alot NCsoft. I'll never buy another game from you again. Ever.

....Also, when you have a game like Far Cry 2 still in the PC charts, I can't see how you can think PC game sales are very high.... If they were that high this game couldn't still get in the chart! I think when you get below the Top 6, you would be shocked at how low the sales numbers for the month are! I know the above makes me sound like a console fanboy, but I am actually a 20 year PC gamer who has never owned a console trying to get a serious debate started about the state of PC gaming!

Don't you find it interesting that console games get sales figures shown and PC games don't? I also find it interesting how many times it is assumed STEAM is selling millions of units when they have never given out sales figures - how does that work?! So on many levels PC gaming is now a bit of an enigma, and that cannot be good! :(

GOWC didnt sell well because it was just selling the same 2 games with extra graphics. if i wanted to get GOW1/2 i could buy used for cheapar than 40 bucks. others want the GOW3 not rebuy the same 2 games again

I'm kind of either speechless or dumbfounded on how low God of War Collection is on the charts. I really was expecting it to break into the bottom of the top 10.

@Inconnux Some people like the traditional way of buying games at retail, like me. And some don't trust the the security of the net with all this hacking possible. And if that's not enough you can view the Steam's "Top sellers" tab on the store page.

Does NPD count steam sales for PC?

Once again another complete crap chart for the PC. Why does Gamespot even bother reporting PC numbers? Walk into any video game store and good luck finding more than a half dozen PC games. Why? because almost everyone buys via digital downloads... Steam sales are FAR more relevant than these numbers posted... When it comes to the PC NPD numbers are a complete joke.

@XenoLair Strongly disagree. Distributors such as Steam are keeping the PC market very much alive, despite all the nay-say. We will probably see a drop in hard media, since it is not a necessity, but I believe overall sales will stay strong. That coupled with the fact that indie companies can have decent success with the multitudes of outlets in PC rather than the singular XNA, for example. Just my thoughts, so take with a grain of salt.

That's a monstrous difference between the two versions of COD!

if we knew the figures from steam, it would be all different. Dragon age definitely number one for PC because it is on steam.

@thorsen-ink: what are the sales numbers(in terms of units) for the PC version of MW2? It would be really interesting to hear how it fared versus the PC version of CoD:MW. I would love to hear if all that boycott ballyhoo from the fams actually showed up in the sales figures or if all of the boycotters broke down like heroin addicts to get some of the new stuff.

PC sales are going down... Its just a matter of time before all PC games are ports of 360 or PS3 developed games. If I was going to make a PC game it would be an RTS/TBS or an MMO, they are the only genres that can still dominate the PC market. Still I'm not bashing PC games, believe me but face reality and check PC and Console game sales for the 1st decade of the 21st century. Sooner or later we'll be seeing MMO's on consoles using USB keyboards and mouses (since mmo's are the holy grail of console games).

While not inherently good to see that MW2 topped console charts, it's not unexpected. Just keep feeding Activision money; they'll backstab you eventually, assuming Blizzard doesn't take them over first.

Bear in mind it's US sales only. Also, it's possible the unit figures for 10th and 20th are not much different.

I loved it. The single player campaign >over Modern Warfare 2's and the multi-player may not be as robust as MW2 but is just as good.

It's too bad Uncharted is probably the best game ever made. Set new standards and stuff.

The more and more MMO's that come and go and WoW just keeps on going, the more you think devs would figure it out. Until WoW gets turned off, probably by its sequel, you can ignore getting a lasting piece of the MMO pie. and Uncharted lives up to it's name... uncharted.

The majority of L4D2 copies were sold over Steam, with all the 4-man bundles, pre-order promotions and whatnot going around. I'm rather surprised that it still manages to get a 5th place on PC sales with just its minute retail figure.

Sadly not many people in this world understands much about dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2 on the pc so they just go and buy it anyway. such a shame

It's sad how no one is buying Uncharted 2...but I'm sure lots of random sales will come up after Christmas when people get their new consoles.

Good to see that Dragon Age Orgins is number 2 on PC sells, I mean its mostly a PC game then a console one.
