Gamespot loves reminding us AvP fans of those reviews. Oh well. I love the game, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a unique multiplayer experience.

what is COD:MW2 still doing in the charts and on #3 for that matter

@nintendo fans This is why nintendo should make a next gen console geared towards 1st party games only!! With the failure of TvsC and NMH2 its just more proof that even when 3rd parties try they still fail. I say nintendo should make a console so powerful that 1st party games can compete with the 3rd parties on other systems graphically because 3rd party on wii is finished in my opinion. Its like no matter how good 3rd party wii games are no one cares. Not even the wii fans.

Wow Dante's Inferno for the PS3 outsold the 360 version, impressive.

Why's Just Dance moving up the list? Surely everyone know's it's a horrible game by now.

Aside of Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2, MAG and maybe Dante's Inferno and AvP, February was a poor month, but neverless it did brought us those 3 great games :) But I'm really interested how March will look like, with GoW III, FF XIII and other AAA games, can't wait! :)

As many have already said below, computer games sales are affected by the fact that many people download directly through steam or other services which are not tracked by NPD, and that more than half of all computer games played these are either free or micro-transaction games, alot of them more casual oriented. One reason why the Sims series has been doing so well is that it appeals very well to the casual audience (including women, who besides the Sims don't tend to pay for the computer games they play themselves, is statistics are to be believed).

@MATERAZZI_23 Tatsunoko vs Capcom and No More Heroes 2 were released in late January and they failed to make even the to 20 chart then (altho both were released in the last week of the reporting period) so to expect them to be on the charts now is wishful thinking. I looked at VG Chartz and in the Americas TvC sold about 83k in its first week and NMH2 sold about half that at 41k, which are both decent showings for non-casual 3rd party wii games, but nothing like Nintendo games or those made for the HD consoles.

Also notice how poorly Modern Warfare 2 does on the PC compared to its console counterparts (I know there are a lot of digital downloads as well). I still don't understand Infinity Ward's decision to remove dedicated servers. I guarantee the game would be a lot higher if they hadn't made that decision, or implement a patch to include dedicated servers. They've shot themselves in the foot really, bad business decision. My only hope is that other companies learn from IW's mistakes.

Ugh, the gaming market these days is filled with games that are rushed just to make money. So many potentially excellent, yet seriously disappointing games have come out recently. Games like Alien Vs Predator or Strak Trek online, which are extremely mediocre, still make decent money. Gamers have to stop wasting their money on shabby games to teach the developers a lesson. Gamers are treated like sheep nowadays, being charged outrageous prices for half-ass games and rushed DLC, I'm so sick of it I want to quit video gaming altogether and waste my money somewhere else. Stop supporting these companies who keep getting away with these stunts, buyer power is a lot more important than you might think.

PC games never sell anywhere near the numbers that console games do. #1 is no more than 100k in sales.

Who the heck is buying these Aliens verses Predator games, there god awful.

Good month! 2K must be happy with bioshock 2 sales, I know I picked up a copy. NSMBW wont be off the charts for a year at least :) Just dance o.-

Pleased Heavy Rain sold 200k first day. It only had 1 day on the market so im super impressed to have seen it on npd's top ten list. An amazing game, i loved Fahrenheit(Indigo Prophecy the gimped version) but Heavy Rain is allot better as it's better paced and has quite a stable story where as fahrenheit was so erratic at times with sudden story changes from thriller crime/drama to weird sci fi. Heavy Rain is the logical evolution of fahrenheit on current gen systems and not the new genre inventing title it was sometimes claimed to be by Cage, regardless it was still amazing. Im loving my PS3 at the moment finished heavy rain then traded it straight in for £28(£10 for an excellent 11 hour interactive drama expierence, not a bad deal imo a 2 hour movie ticket would cost me the same) in store cred as i think David Cage was right when he said only play it the once as IMO if i played it again soon it wouldn't be the same expierece(obviously) but i think it may damage my intial expierence so i will buy and play it again in a year or so, and also that £28 paid off my FF13 pre-order, im starting to ramble off topic so i will end this post now, well done heavy rain here is hoping you hit the million mark next npd you deserve it even 2+ million sales imo, it was sold out everywhere when i went to buy it 5 days after release so it seems like word of mouth and good advertising is working for this title.

@FoeCrusher It's called digital distribution. Steam and the other similar services account for the majority of PC game sales these days, and the numbers are not tracked officially.

You would swear from looking at that list that PC gaming consists solely of WOW and the Sims???? I have enjoyed WOW but seriously what is going on? I doubt pc gaming is that focused on those two games. My guess is that it is shifting to F2P games like DDO online (love it) or social gaming like Farmville (havent played it never will). So is that chart even relevant?

We don't know how much PC games sold. :(

Mario Kart series sells a lot, I see.

@Sins-of-Mosin All of the Mario games up there are good-to-great, with the exception of the Olympics one, which I've never played so I can't speculate. It's always a good thing with quality and commercial success go hand-in-hand.

Mario & Sonic & the Olympic Winter games is in the top 20, that means high sales, meaning another sequel? :?

Pretty sad the PS3 couldn't get Bioshock 2 in the Top 10. Ugh, so much mario remake junk, makes a gamer sick.

That italian plumber beat MW2 in the chart? Guess theres many more turtle stomping action out there than there's shooting

I get the feeling that in 10 years, Mario Kart Wii will still somehow be in the Top 20. It's like the Dracula of video games.

Pretty good sales for Heavy Rain since it was released at the end of the month.

I completely forgot the MAG came out. Ranking 13 place in January and then 15 in February, I don't think the community is going to last very long. The timing, bugs, and the balancing I think got the better of the game. Its the kind of game that would of worked best if it was pushed into summer and not stuck between MW2 and BC2.

Yeah I thought Heavy Rain would do a little better but it's good they got in there.

I am very happy Heavy Rain got in there under the gun. It's a testament to just how open to new experiences the gaming community is nowadays.

Kind of a crappy top 10, but at least Heavy Rain snuck in there.

And I'm kinda surprise that Mario and MW2 are still on there...guess there the "Juggernauts";).

Guess all my favourite games are on the sales chart...so I'm glad!!!:)

This is a revelation... I never knew out of the top 20 games, 6 were Sims, people still play Everquest, and IGT slots?! beat dragon age and avp. i seriously though the pc gaming market is serious business. i guess we're all buncha Sim playing pansies. the only relief i have is that this doesn't include digital distribution, but it's still disheartening.

wheres the sales numbers on the pc games? they still dont keep track of digital downloads?

@Nobri Bad Company 2 came out in March. This is the Feb chart.

Bad Company 2 isn't up there...but 2K10 is? Is it even worth it to buy that game anymore?

Good to know that avp is selling well inspite of all the critics bashing it for the wrong reasons. It was topping the US and the UK charts in the month of febuary for the PS3 and Xbox360 in the individually for each platform even beating mass effect 2 and bioshock2, im surprised gamespot did not mention AVP till now where they only say that it *missed the overall top ten.Seriously what is GS upto these days?? Anyway this month gow3 and ff13 will rule the charts.
