Championship Manager 2006 confirmed for consoles

Latest entry in Eidos' strategic soccer sim series to arrive on PS2, Xbox this spring.

With the PC edition of its long-running Championship Manager series already set for a March 31 release in the UK, Eidos Interactive today confirmed that PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions are on the way and will be released sometime this spring. The console versions are being developed by Gusto Games (makers of the recent PSP Championship Manager), and they will feature a new camera and control system, as well as updated stats.

Forget Championship Manager, Football Manager is the one to get. Sports Interactive, the former makers of CM split from Eidos a couple of years ago and created FM. FM has already been confirmed for Xbox 360 and PSP.

FM2006 is the best soccer sim by far and is scheduled to be released on the Xbox 360 in the UK in March 06 (source game.net)

agree with andy_mackie, FM 2006 is just too far ahead, I have written my own review on the game on one of my earlier blogs in gamespot if anyone wants to check it out.

mmm everyone who have not played a football(soccer) management game, recommend you picking you up Football Manager 2006 (Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006) anyways - because even if you aren't a soccer fan - such a addictive amazing game

Too bad Football Manager games don't come out for consoles. CM has been sucking ever since Sports Interactive parted ways with Eidos to make FM. Take it from someone who's a soccer fanatic and has been playing soccer management games for the last ten years, CM 2006 is gonna suck.

Im just happy that a footy management sim is comming to the consoles. I havent been able to find one around where i live. As an obsessed football fanatic, i like to try out all the games that come out, even if they suck hardcore. Makes me appreciate FIFA and WE all the more.

Yes, Gaara79 is spot on. Football Manager (or the hockey version, NHL:EHM) is an outstanding sports simulation game from Sports Interactive ( www.sigames.com ). Championship manager is poor in comparison.

The team behind the original Championship manager games is now making the Football Manager games, and since then the Chamipns maneger games suck.. I'm gonna wait for Football manager 2006 on 360
