CCP announces console-based Eve game

This looks good. I hope it succeeds. I don't play EVE, but I'd like to be a part of it on my console.

The interaction between EVE and Dust looks awesome. And with 256 player battles this will be epic. I cant wait

This looks and sounds great. Will this be pay-to-play? I sure hope not. The one reason I never picked up Phantasy Star for the 360.

WOOOOO! I actually just got into EVE last month and it still blows my mind. As someone who has always denounced MMORPGs, this one really goes the opposite way from the WoW stereotype. Glad to see it's not too late to join the game if they're planning a console installment now.

As a proud Eve-O player, this is a gigantic potential. I'm all for this, but the thought of having 12 year olds/halo freaks that could decide the fate of controlling space worries me. I hope CCP implement the "additional" feature carefully. :)

HOLY!!!! I thought I could get away from EVE. But now this? OMG this should be amazing if they the FPS honed in real good.

And of course they withhold information about World of Darkness MMORPG. Either they are planning phenomenal and revolutionary gameplay or they are planning to shaft White Wolf.

@grootelaar I'm sure CCP will stop working on the game, as your own personal playing habits are of utmost importance to them.. they are currently worshiping at your shrine to try and quell your negativity.

I would absoloutely love to see this on my Console.

Developers have been trying to figure out a way to bring big name MMO's to the console market, this may be the solution. My alliance (Electus Matari) is already buzzing in anticipation.

This really sounds like a cool Idea, I have always entertained the idea of computer players directing while console players play. I would like to see how it works, if it does I would like to see something like this in a RTS game. I do not however think that something like that would work, but this sounds like it could. It sounds like the PC players will not have much input except for the choice of planet though, so it could work.

hm, i'm all for MMO's on consoles, if they can somehow get the controls right, just a FPS MMO doesn't really appeal to me. I know it's impossible but I dream of mmo's that you can play just for paying for a gold membership. really, just up live's monthly service by 2 or 3 dollars and that would be great for everyone imo. I've never played an eve game, butl i hope it does well so we can see more and better mmo's on consoles, but I probably won't pick it up

From reading this article it sounds as though the players from the Eve online game contract the players of the Dust 514 game to take control of planets for them. So the FP shooting part on the planets is a separate game from the existing Eve online space RTS game? sounds to complicated to me

An FPS-RTS hybrid. Can think of lots that have tried. Can't think of one that was any good. CCP have created a really unique universe in Eve, let's hope this isn't going to sink a massive big black hole into the middle of it.
