Another installment in the courtroom-themed Gyakuten Saiban series, starring a new rookie lawyer, is slated for release later this year on the Nintendo DS.
While American DS owners can look forward to the second DS outing of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney in the upcoming Justice for All, Capcom has announced yet another installment in the series for Japanese gamers, according to Japanese gaming site IT Media.
The game will take place seven years after the last Gyakuten Saiban (the Japanese name for the Phoenix Wright series) and will feature a new lead character, a wet-behind-the-ears lawyer named Housuke Odoroki. His name itself is something of a pun. Odoroki means "surprise," while the first character of Housuke means "law." However, new lead notwithstanding, the game takes place in the same "universe" as the previous games, so the old judge and prosecutor will be returning to their respective roles.
While details are still scarce, the game will evidently incorporate a new system for using the stylus. A new female character will also appear in the game, though it's not yet known how she fits into the story. The game is set for release during 2006, but the exact date and price have yet to be announced.
There is a translation project going on in google (write down gyakuten saiban translation project in google!!!) For gyakuten saiban 3. It basically a patch for the gba rom of gyakuten saiban 3> you can run it either on a supercard or visual boy advance. I have all the gyakuten saiban games thus far, and it is awesome to see it translated by fans. Seriously check it out, the first case is fully translated and is awesome. Im hoping that someone translates all the gba versions of gyakuten saiban, cuz my japanese sight reading isnt so grand at times hahaha. And then releases them in ds fashion, with loads more to do with the mic and the stylus!! :)
Gyakuten Saiban 4 is being released in Japan because they have finished the first 3. I suspect GS 3 will come out after Justice for all. Justice for All should totally rock, I've played through GS2 and look forward to seeing it in English... Also with the new attorney they've probably put him in place since Phoenix over the first 3 games becomes so famous and skillful as well as gaining the ability to see Psyche Locks (ugh) so it'll be a welcome change to see a new defence attorney who doesn't have godmode like Phoenix does in the later games. Anyway, if Justice for All is a straight off translation of Gyakuten Saiban 2 then it'll be brilliant (I look forward to seeing the Magician, Max Galactica translated!)
Phoenix Wright - Gyakuten Saiban Phoenix Wright 2: Justice For All - Gyakuten Saiban 2 Phoenix Wright 4 - Gyakuten Saiban 4 Where's GS3, Capcom?! I'm thoroughly enjoying what's been fan translated, but only one case isn't enough. I'm glad to see Capcom realised what a fantastic game GS is though, and that they realised there are fans out there wanting more.
Ya'll really should have bought a copy when it first came out. I reserved it pretty quickly and have played it way too many times to count. Gamespot says no replayability....HA!
Can't wait for more Phoenix Wright! Phoenix Wright was well worth tracking down the first time, and I'll be all over any more Phoenix Wright games. Mega happies, indeed!
Phoenix Wright hasn't officially launched yet in NZ afaik. I bought an imported copy once the retailer brought in a second shipment, and I am glad I did because I just checked their website and they are out of stock again. Phoenix Wright is one of the must have games for the DS, so it's a shame they haven't put enough into production. It's one of those rare games that when you get it you only stop playing it to eat, sleep and shower.
i placed an order for phoenix wright the begining of may and was able to recieve a copy from the batch that capcom sent out mid june. i recieved it on friday and ITS AWESOME. its hillarious, fun, exciting, interesting, thought provoking, etc. although the place i got it at (ncs.com) is now sold out. back order it. or keep looking else where. seriously...its a MUST HAVE. this game was the reason for 2 of my friends finally deciding to pick up a ds!!
Read what I wrote another reprinting is occuring in Mid-August. Every game store sells out of it. Stores sold their shipment of phoenix wright in under a week often moving hundreds of units in a single day. Walmart had it for sale at their online shop but in a few hours said they were sold out. And Justice For all is the DS version of the second GBA game. The Japanese will be getting it too.
Phoenix Wright was so awesome when I rented it, but I can't find it for sale anywhere except the internet, and it's always listed at ridiculous prices. I'm glad more games are coming, but I still would really like to finish the frist one :(
well a little birdie flew in my window and told me "order phoenix wright from jr.com"...i didnt believe my eyes...it was available and for 29.95...good hunting :)
OMG I can't wait. Please keep doing these games Capcom. They are so addicting. How about a Wii version too...
If what the news said is true, then the version we're getting is US exclusive. Sweet! I hope "Justice for all" has the two unreleased games in one DS package (not to mention having new cases made for the DS stylus).
pheonix wright should be avaliable in specialty game stores like gamestop... i never played it so maybe i'll consider it sometime soon
I was really looking forward to playing the first one but i never got around to it, maybe I'll be able to get this one.
For those who cannot find phoenix wright go to lik-sang or play-asia and order the Japanese version. It has an english language option and is the same script, same everything as in the NA version. Also you can import the UK version. You have to look online they are still printing it. It actually came back on store shelves in a huge reprinting but online stores sold out every copy they had in just a few days. No clue on how many were bought that week but you really should look at online shops like ncsx.com which reported the shipping of the reprint. Another reprint will be hitting stores in mid-August.
I LOVE PW:AA, and am glad to see that more will be appearing stateside. Where are translations of the original 2 & 3?
This time I'm buying this one the second I see it instead of going "Oh, I'll wait until my birthday" when I see it (which by then - hard/impossible to find!)
It's good news to read that Capcom will continue to support the DS with Phoenix Wright!!! The first game was absolutely incredible and I can't wait to see how this one turns out.
