Thats actually pretty cool to be honest the sound track I mean Not that the new mega mans not being announced
Soundtrack collection to be released to commemorate mascot's 25th anniversary; music to span NES series through to current DLC titles.
Even with Mega Man Legends 3 cancelled, Capcom still has a soft spot for the Blue Bomber. The publisher will be releasing a soundtrack collection of the Mega Man series sold exclusively through its online store e-Capcom.
The 10-disc soundtrack set is called the "Rock-can Sound E Can" and will be packaged in a steel case themed around the game's signature E-Can power-up. The collection will include music from the original NES series (Mega Man 1-6), the SNES-exclusive Mega Man 7, the PlayStation version of Mega Man 8, as well as the DLC Mega Man titles Mega Man 9 and 10).
The bundle is being produced to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Capcom mascot and will cost 14,700 yen ($185) when it goes on sale September 19 this year.
As much as I'd love to get this (even though I can get all the tracks for free online), $185 is a LOT to pay for 10 CDs.
As much as I want it here, the only way for non-Japanese players to celebrate the Blue Bomber will be get Stret Fightr X Tekken(if the rumors are true). At least they're not shafting us with RE6 Archives/Anthology(looking at the price it seems to be at least a better use of money than the jacket edition).
I say, Nintendo should buy Capcom, and then have Retro make a new 2D Megaman X, and the finish MML3 to shut up all the whiners.
25th Anniversary? Capcom, there better be some kind of real collection in the works!!!! Give me MM 1-10, MM&B 1&2, MMGB 1-5, Rickboard, Super Adventure, Battle and Chase, Power Battle, Power Fighters, Wily Wars, and Soccer, through in the crappy of games too. All in the same package... Then collect the X games in a package, then the Legends series, ZX series, and the Battle Network with all the spinoffs. Capcom, if you're gonna let MegaMan die, at least let him go out with a bang...
Oh goody! A collection of music I can find for free on pretty much any music website at the moment for a low price of not-free!
Thanks again for nothing Capcom.
Why is it companies these days want to celebrate anniversaries in the most lame-ass way possible? At least Sega gave us a new game with Sonic, unlike Nintendo with their direct-no-changes-port of Mario All Stars and now Capcom with their Copy-and-paste-into-a-CD-tell-Nero-to-burn-off-100,000-copies.
You people need to stop keeping your hopes up. There cannot possibly be any more classic Mega Man games without Keiji Inafune at Capcom. And if there was, it would be so much lesser quality, we'd all hate it because we remember the series' former glory. Man up and face the fact that you've seen the end of Mega Man forever. I'll take these soundtracks anytime knowing I'll never play another new Mega Man game.
Wow you people are satisfied with this crap? I dunno Capcom..you do (or used to make) GAMES.. how about another one worth a crap?
Not even any MMX music included. For $200 I should be able to listen to every freaking sound clip that existed in these games.
at first, I was all about this soundtrack set. But there's no MMX games in it. I started with the MMX series and still like it better than the originals. Ohhh well.
Capcom, first you cancelled MML3, you took a dump on Universe, rumor has it (wikipedia) that a MMX next-gen game would've been viable but then ya cancelled that too. You produce this crappy SNES remake of X1 with flash graphics looked like a 2 year old drew it.
Adding insult to injury you left Megaman out of Marvel 3 and Ultimate!! A seasoned veteran within the series, despite the fact he was top tier in MvC2 and was decent in 1. Then you had the nerve to say he didn't fit the concept, that Arthur replaces him and you couldn't think of any moves to give the blue bomber.
Really? After over 100 powers the robot masters have afforded MM you couldn't brainstorm a viable playstyle? *facepalm* Then you claim he's the least requested character in the game despite the fact he wins every poll by a landslide. Finally you pee all over the fans by pushing bad box art Megaman onto SFXT, KNOWING people are pissed enough as it is! And now you insult us with this overpriced 8-bit soundtrack in a jar. It's no wonder your staff are dropping like flys and the Capcom fans are decline. This explains why SFXT sold like crap and pros deem it unplayable now. No wonder RE6 at E3 was seen as a quicktime test. No wonder JWong compared Marvel 3 to Street Fighter 2 Rainbow Edition lol.
What's happened to you Capcom? Remember the Dreamcast days when it was all good? You gave us Dino Crisis, Power Stone, Project Justice, Jojo, Alpha 3, MvC2. Those 32-bit MM's are awesome. You kicked ass with Resident Evil and Dante on Playstation. Other publishers including SNK, ASW, MIDWAY wanted to be like you. Now look at ya, your new games see terrible reception, ya nickle and dime us with on-disc crap, you turned your back on the MM fanbase a mascot who carried the company for over a decade. You let go of good people (Inafune) then you over work some (Ono). You're pathetic. It's no wonder I'm boycotting your games.
I can't say I have access to the most accurate of sales figures, but it doesn't look like Mega Man has had enough sales in the last 10 years to justify more titles. Hopefully I'm wrong and Capcom is planning a triumphant and big-budget reboot of the series, although it would have been cool to have a Mega Man game with a level editor.
@TrueGBMegaman 9 sold well. I guarantee you a new MM current-gen game would earn them over a million copies. With a starving fanbase and plenty of backstory to go on it can't fail.
Cashcom Troll Tactic Confirmed
Didn't SNK release a soundtrack compilation bundled with KOF XIII? It may not have been every single track from the series however it included the vast majority of them plus all of the KOF fighting games were covered. I only paid $40 bucks for the game that came with said soundtrack.
I am saying this to make a point. If SNK can create an OST comprised of 24-bit NeoGeo music then sell it at affordable prices AT GAMESTOP AND OTHER RETAILERS NO LESS. Then Capcom should be able to push a Megaman OST of the entire series at $40 dollars. Why not bundle it with a brand new MM game like Legends 3 then sell it below 80 dollars the fans would love that. Or create a super deluxe collectors box set featuring all the original games Saturn, Playstation, NES, Megadrive (Wily Wars), SNES, PSN, XBLA MM games then sell it along with the soundtracks at $150 like you did with Street Fighter Anniversary box set? How about a new game what about X? Maybe grant us a remastered version of MMX for the networks. Hell I would even take an HD Collection.
are you kidding me capcom music soundtrack give as what the fans want for 5 or 10 years or longest give us a new mega man game not no fat mega man, the littie mega man which of millions of fans love
WTF? is this for real? a fucking musics for 200 bucks? we want a fucking game not remastered music when i can find plenty of it on youtube.
@LordKaizer Remember when Nintendo gave away the remastered music of Zelda free with Skyward Sword?
Yeah, those days were awesome.
