Activision's WWII shooter gets fixes to multiplayer via auto-update on Xbox Live; some gameplay enhancements also added.
That was the cry of gamers after being sidelined by some issues found in the multiplayer portion of Call of Duty 3. COD3's developer, Treyarch, has heard the call and has made available a patch for the World War II first-person shooter.
The auto-update is now available over Xbox Live and addresses problems relating to both ranked and player matches in Call of Duty 3's online component. The development team says that the greatest improvement in gameplay comes with searching for and joining multiplayer sessions. Ranked games allegedly come together much faster, and searches for player matches return many more results than before.
Other additions include basic improvements to gameplay, options, and the heads-up display. Among them are consistent brightness settings between single- and multiplayer, the ability to choose between playing as the Axis or Allies in ranked games, and consistent amounts of players per team in rotating-map games. More details on the patch are available on the game's forums at Xbox.com.

this game blows. it is what they scrapped from call of duty 2 because it was way too lame and NOT FUN! this was easily the biggest waste of time i have ever experienced.
Patch hasnt changed a thing. Still takes an hour to get into a multiplayer game and ranked is still broken.
i dont even think its as good as cod 2 multiplayer wise. i like cod 2 a lot better in a lot of ways.
just bough call of duty a few days ago, its pretty bomb, glad its all patched up once i bought it. Good timing!!!
The patch didn't fix anything. I spent an hour last night trying to get into a multiplayer game and got nothing. This game would be close to perfect if it wasn't for the multiplayer connection issues. That makes the game almost not worth buying.
My xbox 360 jams when i play online call of duty 3 and its not the xbox that has theproblem its the gam because i alrady played it on a friends house and it also jams
cool i'm gonna get this one, i still haven't bought it yet though. COD really has beaten the pants off of medal of honor.
I had that problem joining game, failed several times and rarely connected. The update has made a very noticeable diference. Much easier to connect. Brilliant update.
i can agree that gears is the better game..but i have had MUCH more fun with cod3 online than gears online...glad to see these issues get resolved
who cares about CoD anyway? Gears is the only game worth playing right now anyway. I have CoD but am not even touching it until I get my 10,000 kill achievement in Gears.
It still takes 4ever to get into ranked matches. I didn't notice any difference after the patch was released. People are quiting, then it send you back into the lobby to wait again. I won't be playing 4 a while. Let me know when it's really fixed.
I want to play the game just for the multiplayer, could care less about the singleplayer. Hopefully everything is running smooth by the time I get the game for xmas
COD3 graphics are EXACTLY SAME as COD2 , only difference is - you have some canadian instead of the russian soldier as one of the campaigns , Activision should be sued for this kinda treachery .
Everyone keeps getting mad about this Generation releasing games before they are finished. Do any of you angry people realize that this is better then in the previous generation (Xbox,ps2,Gamecube) where crappy games never got patched. At least in this generation they are fixing there problems and owning up to them. Before they just sold us useless crap!
They always release a '' super action-packed game '' that makes you miss all the fun because of the numerous bugs.... Anyways, all you can say is ''A patch, a patch, my kingdom for a patch!''. Then you have to wait for the right patch. But until then, you'd probably have already broken your XBOX.
I keep getting a message saying either: "Cannot connect to host.", or "Cannot connect to all players." Apparently they don't know how to patch it.
Shorter time to join but still ages, when you get into a game loadsa people join though, the real solution is to have more games running!
Now I get a message saying can't connect to all players. They had 2 chances to get this right and still not working properly.
