Bungie's Destiny Coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3

Destiny developer Bungie Studios announces that its upcoming online shooter will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
At Sony's PlayStation Meeting event, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg took the stage to introduce Bungie's Jason Jones, who shared with the crowd that the upcoming first-person shooter Destiny would be coming to the PlayStation 4.
According to Jones, Destiny is a great fit for the PlayStation 4 because both the game and the console are always connected. A bit of new footage was shown, which showcased the game's science-fiction atmosphere, but you can learn more about Destiny in GameSpot's feature article on the game.
The PlayStation 4 is not the only Sony console Destiny will reach; the game is also coming to the PlayStation 3, and both platforms will ship with exclusive content. GameSpot will bring you more on Destiny as information is announced.

@unveilingframe they were forced to make halo after halo, broke free, and now are making games on whatever they want again. They made PS2 and apple games before being bought by m$.
I would rather have this game on the PS3!!!!....Looks freaking awesome!!!!...CAN'T WAIT....WOW.....
5 Like @Huglyone I brought my PS3 two years after it came out, the fact people who can't afford a new console at launch means they still wont miss out on a great game.
The fact several of the launch titles are being released on both consoles is a great plus I think.
Saying that, I've already preordered my PS4, but I'll still keep my PS3 to play my old games etc.

Finally some actual footage, though only a little. Pretty excited for it for the co-op. Hoping it will be like Borderlands on steroids.
am still not sold on destiny, all those characters looked plastic-y with no faces then again looking at the Halo images i would not have been sold either but damn halo turned out to be one awesome game
1 Like i think destiny will be a much more immersive experience on the ps4 compared to xbox 720. unless,,,, microsoft copies sony and has their new console streamline everything. that remains to be seen.
@ahhnold72 I like Sony,but the ustream cards belonged to MS, which they announced last year. In fact, their online services are purely a replication of Xbox live. The whole concept of spying on our friends, well that belongs to Xbox too. In fact they could just have a press conference and say "ditto!"

Does this mean that the PS4 has to be connected to the Internet at all times to play anything? I will not support that kind of crap!
@gamerboy100 The addition of Diablo 3 makes it more than likely, but whats the big deal? I leave my PS3 plugged into my modem anyway.
1 Like That's not what he is saying. Destiny has to always be connected online. With the PS4, you can just jump right into the game without loading or anything.
The "big deal" is my Internet is not reliable or fast enough to handle something like that, and my ISP has a monopoly where I live. I won't play games or consoles that require me to be online at all times, especially in single player. And I am sure there are many others with the same problem.

@wdma Halo was a genie. It had great AI and solid mechanics. This is a more thought out Halo so this should be quite good on every front. Halo is known for AI and phenomenal music. That is all I want from Bungie and I will say it I hope for some Halo 2 like story telling. I know people think that it was the weakest in the trilogy I think that the story was the best told in Halo 2 from every aspect. The only drawback were weapon sounds and lack of certain iconic weaponry. Halo 3 was awesome overall but compared to Gears, Oblivion, Bioshock and Mass Effect the look of the game was underwhelming even though the gameplay was great. Looking forward to this game because I love the music in the trailer even though the graphics look a little underwhelming. But, Bungie are the AI specialists in making each clan feel different and cool in how they attack and stuff so... yeah! LOL!
1 Like @wdma Yeah, i wonder what sony has done, maybe its not so much about sonys action but about bungie's decision. Bungie got tired of making the same Halo crap over and over again and decided to move on to better things.
@wdma Yup, and I'm sure there will also be exclusive content on the XBox systems as well. You'll be seeing a lot of repeat announcements at Microsoft press conference in the near future. I don't think Sony has done much of anything. Still a lot of rumors that went unanswered.

This is a big hit to Microsoft. For Microsoft, I believe they will have Jason West and Vince Zempella in this E3, if not, they are fucked.

@fatee I don't think so, they tried that on PS3 (Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3), but it gave an anfair advantage over controllers gamers.
