Among the topics discussed by Bungie's "Frankie" and "Sketch" are Halo 3, Halo 2 achievements and a mysterious X06 announcement.
Halo-maker Bungie has gotten into the podcast game, releasing its debut episode over the weekend. The program is being hosted by Frank "Frankie" O'Connor and Brian "Sketch" Jarrard, two of Bungie's main community managers.
Several topics are discussed, including a large chunk devoted to the audio in Halo 3. The two interview a few members of the audio team and preview some of the first sound bites that may be featured in the game.
There is also a lot of talk about Halo 2 for Vista, which Frankie describes as looking "smooth" and "alien" at first because of its performance on PCs. There will be Halo 2 achievements as part of the Live Anywhere program, but they will be available only to PC users. Although it was already a given, the two confirm that Xbox 360 Halo 3 achievements are already in the works.
Halo 2 for Vista will be on display and playable at this week's X06, which begins on Wednesday. Speaking of X06, Sketch says, "It's safe to assume that something cool will come out of that X06 show," and he promises that the next podcast will be "juicy."
There are also interviews with matchmaking playlist guru "Ninja on Fire" and audio lead Jay Weinland, who provides listeners with a "Halo 3 Mystery Sound."
The podcast is 50MB and runs just slightly under an hour. Bungie has not announced how often it plans to release its podcasts.
Is the halo 3 going to be for the **** xbox or not !!!!! I WILL BE SO **** PISSED IF IT ISNT !!! I SWEAR I WILL **** KILLL SOMEONE!
Is Vista evergoing to come out so I can play Halo 2. I either am getting this or 360 to play Halo 2 and this delay is too long. I prefer to get Halo2 for the PC
You guys need to update... Halo Wars has already been anounced, along with another Halo game by Peter Jackson. Now we are in for 3 Halo games. :)
yeah, tomdogg is right, more halo 3, bakookas and stuff, the stuff of kings baby! It'll be awesome if in Halo 3 we can torture grunts, hate those things because they're pathetic and laughable...which makes them endearing...awww...umm...yeah...
Amazing news, can't wait. On a side-note: It's sad how all the people who've never played/suck at Halo, complain about it.
this isn't really related, but DAMN it would be nice if they released a 10 minute gameplay video demo of HALO3, sorta like they did with HALO2 at E3 2003. I could really care less abuot HALO2 for Vista though, I'm glad that PC gamers get to experience it because it is quite a good game, not as good as the original thou.
Personally when there is a Halo 3 update I want to hear a little about the game and not so much about the other, granted X06 is going to be good and all but I want more Halo 3 news!!

to ice_rocman : yes people praise halo and halo 2, but so what. Its their favorite game, to tell you the truth, I thought that rainbow six 3 was an incredible game on xbox (for the time) and also all 3 splinter cell's, the graphics were far more superior than that of ps2. I like halo and halo 2, and I cant wait for halo 3, it's gonna kick some @ss . What I am getting at is there are people on ps2 that praise Metal Gear as ps2's god, frankly I don't care, so why should you?
this gonna be stupid but insightful hopefully some useful info will come from this i really want to get windows vista but i need to get a completely new comp i need a job (you need to get yourself a job sea cow-jim giffahgan)
halo 2is vista only? if so that is complete ****, vista is joke of an OS when it comes to Freedom of choice.
Forget Podcasts. The scroll wheel on my iPod broke -- faulty manufacturing... I treated that thing like a baby. What does Apple want to do about it? Get me to buy another one, that's what. So I went out and bought a Creative Labs 30GB Zen Vision, and, as they say at the Berlin McDonalds, "Ich Liebe Es!".
Well for me i can't wait to see and play Halo 3, i don't know about everyone else, but when i hear people talking about a game like ice_rocman did, it's my guess that : 1 he owns a PS2, 2 want to own a PS3 or 3 doesn't have an X Box or X Box 360 and never played a great game like all the Halo's so far. So if you don't like or never played the game, stop the fuss about it, because some people really like it and don't care about what you say.
"Blah blah blah, just more "we'll tell you something without actually telling you anything" BS. Lets see some more screens, a short gameplay video, or anything useful instead of more worthless lip service."--ReaperXxxx That's what I'm sayin' man. Show us what we want to see.
Blah blah blah, just more "we'll tell you something without actually telling you anything" BS. Lets see some more screens, a short gameplay video, or anything useful instead of more worthless lip service. The dude claiming the Halo 2 is the game for non gamers just obviously sucks at the game. Anyone with any level of intelligence that has played the game knows otherwise. And for the record, "auto aim" does not exist in Halo 2. Its called "aim assist". If you want to see "auto aim" look at Metriod Prime or SOCOM: Fire Team Bravo. Learn proper teminology before writing something incorrect.
"It's safe to assume that something cool will come out of that X06 show," and he promises that the next podcast will be "juicy." More HALO 3 News?!
