Bungie handing Halo to Microsoft August 2

hmmm not sure what will happen with microsoft in charge. lets hope for the best though, id like to see chief kick some more ass.

I predict that Microsoft will ruin this franchise in the future. 'Nuff said.

I'd like to see the entire series on one system just for visual continuity, so I hope for an update on Halo 2 as well. I'd buy a 360 just for the Halo series.

@BrownGrownMan I stated Hired Gun did the port. Would have posted it sooner but I had internet connectivity problems. Just because it was coded for Vista (XP with mod) doesn't mean that the server browser has to be so slow. My PC can keep it locked @ 60 FPS on max settings with 16xAA in MP. It was a good port that needed tweaking in some areas. (Double and quad shot are too hard to do) "Worst game in the series"? The game that got a 9.5 from this site, which is notorious for being stingy with it's ratings? 9.5 from IGN and perfect 10s from other sites. We can only wish to have rehash in this form. I'm not holding my breath for Halo to still be as good.

It would be nice if every once in a while a publisher/developer just let a series fade away after being nothing but successful. I mean think if they just ended the Halo franchise completely. There would never be a bad Halo game on record and the series would go out on top. Of course this is a rediculous concept, publishers and developers want to make money (why wouldn't they?). I guess it's kind of like Led Zeppelin ending it after JB died. They never struggled to stay/or get back into the limelight. Every album was great. It just leaves such a great legacy when someone/something goes out on top.

Looking forward to the "O Brave New Worlds" video, whatever it may cover. Bungie is a pretty good company and caters to their fans, and even though they are no longer making Halo games I will keep an eye on their future work. Meanwhile I am looking forward to the continuation of Halo under Microsoft. I'm hoping Microsoft will improve on the gameplay a lot in Halo 4.

@Sigil-otaku honestly i hope they keep the forerunners mystical in the games, i just didn't like the direction the novels went with that idea.

@GeigerdolylWodd There is no online features in Halo Anniversary aside from co-op, unless you count a couple of maps for Reach. I was really looking forward to Halo CE on xbox live, but it looks like thats not going to happen.

Microsoft put some bots in Shadowrun here's hoping they will put some into Halo anniversary's multiplayer and make it online enabled.

I love bungie and all their accomplishments as a developer. Accomplishments like Halo. And Halo 2. And remember Halo 3? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Myth games as much as the next guy, but this kind of feels like Leonard Nimoy acting rebellion against the fame he got from playing Mr Spock.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more info about Bungie's new game, and also hopeful that 343 won't destroy the Halo series. I guess we'll find out eventually.

all i gotta say is, can we finally get halo 3 on PC? I got dissed for not being able to complete the trilogy!

Good Maybe they will get this franchise heading in right direction, Halo Reach's online was awesome with arena and all that cool stuff, but after 2 months Bungie Ruined by letting guest play in every single match. Stupid Move Bungie. Was Awesome when They took off the Radars in 2nd Season then in 3rd season they put them back on really stupid. See you later Bungie.

Bungie makes magic. It concerns me they will not be handling all future Halo titles. I heard some of the "Halo team" has migrated over to 343, but still... Bungie just knows how to put a complete package together. Still.. can't wait for their next game. Activision as publisher, notwithstanding. It will still be great.

Now I wont have to choose between Halo and Cabelas. :D

Glad to hear they'll be taking on new projects. Halo was great while it lasted - now it is time for it to go. It's about time they brought some new stuff. :)

Ugh... I have a really bad feeling about this... Bungie's new game that their working on better make up for them letting go of Halo.

A sad day indeed.... I just feel like Halo games will never be the same without Bungie's magic touch. No more Bungie day playlists, no more checking stats over Bungie.net, no more Bungie halo vidocs... Damn...I feel like they are one of the only companies left out there who still give a crap about us fans after game release. I hope Halo can continue to grow even without you guys, toast to you Bungie and all your efforts, keep rockin the gaming world!

I think the gameplay is great as is, it'd be cool to get some games about Onyx, or some pre-Reach stuff. Even if it's just some DLC missions

halo=cod halo 1,2,3 brought little change to gameplay(still fun), but see it like cod now microsoft gonna milk that cow dry samething for iw and cod.

everyone loves halo and Bungie except morons...lets hope that both will continue to do great things...i mean halo and bungie...not morons

@GabrielOnuris Basically it's a new trilogy just like star wars had 2 trilogies. First will be the master chief trilogy followed by whatever we get (assuming it's a forerunner trilogy since that's where the books have moved on to).

@brothersinarmsb Say what? I got Halo on launch and then bought every Halo game since and I think Reach is one of the better ones. Could have done with a more focused story (i.e. focused on the world and events rather than just on a team of spartans) but the gameplay was great. It fell between the more arcadey original and the more weighted Halo 2 so had a better balance than going too far each way and it expanded on the equipment from Halo 3 with armour abilities. Arguably they can be a little cheap but they really did work to add depth to the game since there was more strategies to undertake and ways of diversifying the fights.

@chilly-chill A lot of people would disagree with you on that. ODST isn't even comparable to Reach. ODST should have been a XBLA game for 15 bucks instead of a full 60 Dollar game.

@natanaj Well I thought that finding out what happened on Reach was awesome. And the way it really felt intense, was great. With the fights everywhere, even far on the background, and seeing all the soldiers with you rushing and dying. I could feel the desperation in the air. Well it was my favorite halo experience :).

Even though many say that the Anniversary is a bad idea, I'm looking forward to it. The remastered version is something no real fan will miss.

@slash_out i actually have to dissagree with you. I loved the gameplay and enemies in halo reach, but I didn't realy like the story. It just doesn't feel like halo with the mysteries of flood and forrunners. @brothersinarmsb gtfo

So it will be interesting to see what Bungie does for their new game. Since they are no longer beholden to Microsoft then PS4,iPad2 and the Wii U could also see this new game from Bungie. As well as Xbox 3 and the PC. Which Bungie has already published for.
