?MAC blows? Does it? It's quite good to have a MAC address in your network card at least: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_address
Game of the Year Edition of co-op focused role-playing shooter arrives on Apple platform in just two weeks, will include all DLC packs.
Mac gamers will soon be able to enjoy another hit ported from other platforms. Today, Gearbox Software announced that the Game of the Year edition of Borderlands will be released for Apple computers on December 3--in just over two weeks. The port of the M-rated game is being performed by London-based Feral Interactive, which also handled the Mac editions of BioShock, Rome: Total War, and Sid Meier's Pirates!
Having sold over 3 million copies to date , Borderlands has proven a popular combination of role-playing game and first-person shooter. Published by 2K Games, the "role-playing shooter" drops players onto the barren planet of Pandora as one of four character classes: soldier, siren, hunter, and berserker. Whatever roles players assume, they must fight their way through various monster- and marauder-infested wastelands in search of the fabled Vault. Along they way, they accumulate skills and powers to aid them in their quest, which can be played alone or in up to four-player co-op mode.
Already available for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, the GOTY edition includes all previously available downloadable content packs for Borderlands, including the The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. For more on the original Borderlands, read GameSpot's full review.
With any luck the game will be released on Steam. If Mac users are lucky it will even be a Steamplay title.
"Mac gamers will soon be able to enjoy .." LOL, thanks for the laugh. do they even exist? they often play on their virtual machine on a Mac which is actually an intel PC assembled and customized by apple.
@cain19822004 "It's hard to play anything other than Solitaire with only one mouse button. lol" Spoken like a true noob.
@OaklandRaiderz At least a year, if EVER, just look at the games list for Macs and compare it to the PC list, in fact, I think the Mac version of Steam probably has every available Mac game on it. It's hard to play anything other than Solitaire with only one mouse button. lol
You mac-humpers couldve made a badass gaming computer for less than $900 like i did, but instead you chose to spend way more than that on a macbook. your mac looks prettier than my PC, but i dont have to wait a year for games.
Don't load that Windows filth on your gorgeous Macs. But if you must, remember to use protection. Borderlands FTW
@amg231, running boot camp is completely different then running windows in VM ware. If you are using boot camp you are running windows natively, and if you already have OS X installed you are going to need to buy a new disk to set it up for boot camp. in vmware you are looking at trouble. I have a decent system myself and while vmware works well for many things, there are some places it suffers.
@teknic1200 I run windows xp on my mac and it runs smoothly. I was able to play DAO, ME2, Batman Arkham, and a bunch of other games with no problems. Your system doesn't have to be 'beefy', windows runs on its own not as an emulated os. If your computer meets the system requirements then it should run. I ran all those games on a 2006 macbook pro 2.16 intel core duo. good news this is coming out on mac, hope it does well.
I wouldn't buy it. I don't sell games I own, but if I did Borderlands would probably be the first to go.
@Savior4Life 1 year later Mac finally gets Borderlands.... There you go, I fixed your post for you. ;)
Macs excel at music and video work. For that they are great. Not to mention it is a UNIX filesystem. Borderlands is an awesome game, and the more people who can play it the better. So far as running Windows on a Mac, sure it can be done but you need a beefy mac for it to run well. You're much better off saving resources by running the game locally.
I don't hate Mac, but I don't use one either. I've been stuck on PC's forever. This is good news for Mac gamers anyway. the only thing I want to know is when will Borderlands 2 be released? I know it's in the works. The first game was just to good.
Yoooo PC users, im having trouble installing McAfee and Malware virus super encryption coded software to my hard drives I really need help it's eating all my fyyyllleeezzzz Anyway, very happy to see this. DEFINITELY checking this out.
@Richardthe3rd. Right, if you buy the Windows version on Steam you can download the Mac version as well.
Awesome game. I can't believe Mac users had to wait this long. I hope they have friends with consoles (or own one themselves).
I got my Mac for editing but the occasional game of Left 4 Dead on it is fun. Not a gaming platform by any stretch.
Finally, Macs get SOME decent games. Not that I care, but as a PC guy, I have to feel some sort of pity for them.
Cool I dont have a mac but Borderlands is an awesome game, glad to see Gearbox is supporting all their gaming audience.
I have GOTY. I just started playing with claptrap's new robot revolution yesterday! Also , I just finished the game.
Although I always found Macs overpriced at least they can finally play the game. So can PC people play with Mac people though? As for Xbox360Gamer15, please crawl back into your hole. Nothing against 360 but all your "facts" are just plain wrong.
I got the goty for borderlands it rules ! i love this game ! good now even people with mac will be able to loot pandora good for them !
Maybe if Xbox360Gamer15 got a real job instead of trolling he can afford to own more than ONE system and appreciate games on all formats :) Just a thought...
Oh hey guys! Pretty awesome news Mac's actually getting a good game! Oh of course Xbox360Gamer15 is in here trolling. He trolls every thread and has no life, etc, etc.
Xbox360Gamer15 Posted "they should take the game off the ps3 and pc and not put it on the mac and make it a xbox 360 exclusive" Xbox360Gamer15 If youraboe statement is not being a fanboy that I dont know what is...
@smokegod I am a PC user, but Im glad that games that ARENT the Finding Nemo game (great film, bad game) are making there way to mac. I just hope Mac and PC can play together, lol.
