2K Games and Gearbox Software confirm $100 Deluxe Vault Hunter's edition and $150 Ultimate Loot Chest version for upcoming shooter sequel.
Come September, gamers yearning to pick up a premium bundle for Gearbox Software's new shooter Borderlands 2 will have two options to consider. 2K Games and Gearbox Software today confirmed the game's two special editions: the $100 Deluxe Vault Hunter's collector's edition, and the $150 Ultimate Loot Chest edition.
The Deluxe Vault Hunter's limited edition includes a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead doll, as well as a hardbound Inside the Vault: The Art & Design of Borderlands 2 book. Additionally, the premium bundle packs in a collectible sticker set, a map of in-game world Pandora, a digital comic download code, and downloadable in-game content.
Gamers looking to spend even more can pick up the $150 Ultimate Loot Chest limited edition of Borderlands 2. This bundle packs in all items within the Deluxe Vault Hunter's edition, as well as a scaled loot chest replica, a steel book case for the game, and a "Creatures of Pandora wide-format ID chart." Additionally, this version includes a lithograph postcard set, field notes from Sir Hammerlock, a cloth map of Pandora, and a certificate of authenticity.
Both special editions will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC editions of Borderlands 2. 2K Games and Gearbox Software also today announced that those who preorder either bundle will score access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, which grants users a range of in-game content, as well as the previously announced fifth character class, the mechromancer.
I guess its for fans more crazier then the characters found in borderlands. :)
The chest is probably dinky, probably; max 3 feet in lenth. If its all actual size to another you can see the chest is really no more bigger then the monster poster and cloth map, even the post cards.
game.co.uk just started takeing pre-orders on both sets.
get em befor they vanish....... allready got mine.
It depends on the content of the art book for me, if i had to price them individually i'd probably pay about 25 to 30 for the art if its loaded and about 15 for the bobblehead. As for the rest of it.....ehh, really those two items are all i'm interested in. So 100 bucks seems like a fair price for the deluxe. As for the game being 60, i still have issues with the current gaming market
I want that loot chest, but at the same time, it looks cheaply made. Unfortunately, Ill probably aim for just the standard edition unless money says otherwise.
wow. can i drool now. wish i had money to burn. sadly i must resist and wait for the GOTY version. simply cant afford to play the game and miss out on all of the DLC. must pass the marshmallow test...
I absolutely love Intellectual Property. That's my modus operandi. Can't dislike Gearbox for that in no fashion
I've never been a true super duper fan. But I am definitely eyeing the Ultimate Chest for this one...Money just has to be available
I know this is just a cash grab...I know it's a waste of money...
but that loot chest...dammit I'm a sucker for replicas!
Borderlands is a great game. But this is a class A cash-in...
I'll be getting the game alone, but i do hope that the mechromancer can be availiable later on to people who didn't preorder...
@Raxyman Never fear, it's been confirmed that the mechromancer will be available at a later date...god knows I wanna main her.
Oh yeah, I'm all over that $150 special editiion.
And by that I mean I'll be waiting for a price drop and paying more than $100 less than that.
@EliOli -- LOL; good stuff. :)
I'll be ordering the ULCE (hrmm.. awfully close to "ulcer"...) for myself, and a regular edition for the SO to play. She's a good sport w/MP, and a half-decent gamer.
I'd love to get the Ultimate Loot Chest Edition, but I can't for health reasons.
My wife would kill me...
If the loot chest is made of plastic, I'm in. If the loot chest is made of cardboard... no dice. They really should show a picture of the loot chest opened (especially since they're calling it a "replica") Judging by the hard "low polygon" edges on the loot chest I think it might be cardboard...
Again, I'm anoid wit publishers.
Make us something worthwhile in a CE thats isn't DLC, throwaway comic/artbook, stupid cards, figure, usb key or bobblehead/paperweight.
If you ACTUALLY want your CE to have an impression you need to thikn outside the box and give say, something more swaggy that gaming journalists receive with their demo.
Hmm, I can understand Americans being annoyed by this, you have a $90 difference from the standard edition where our difference is only $60, kinda shows how that there's no reason for our very high standard edition prices
Getting the $150 too, or $158 here, also includes a vending machine to but Marcus in as seen in the image :)
The reason why Gearbox Software has two Gunzerkers is because they don't want to give away the other classes.
All these people complaining about the price... lol. If you don't want it, don't get it simple. Very simple.
However some of us have a large disposable income that we can afford to splurge on this stuff, and quite frankly, it's just AWESOME :)Will be getting the Collectors.
I have to highly agree with ToRNIO. Haters gon Hate. Gaters gona Gate.
Over it, buy the normal edition with the rest of the peasents. But us Awesome people who work and can afford such luxeries as Collectors edition will be blowing up midets and masked c**ts running at us with machete's while on fire.
I sidestepped the lego this time, not hating. Just look at what you posted. Your downing everyone who is not getting the CE, It doesn't take much to take your comments as an insult. I will be getting $150 edition but i'm not going to down people who are debating the price. I think its is an inflated price but I still want it and will get it but still, just because we/you/us/them have the money to get it does not absolve demeaning others. Everyone is gamers here and you just come off as a prick.
PS-I don't give a sh*t what you think of me or others, you just sound like a spoiled brat trying to be a thug to big for the shoes your trying to imply.
@RedruM006 Damn, that's harsh. Stepping on a lego barefoot is like the equivalent of waterboarding.
Ok, maybe that was a bad comparison...
Wow...these sound like almost total crap. The $150 would be a 'decent' deal at $100...but at $150? I don't think so. I love collectors editions...I buy them frequently...but these? Well, they're terrible. Also I hate this trend where part of the 'payoff' for buying collectors editions is DLC....God. Give us some extra little trinkets for our money but not digital comics and DLC...that's just lame.
are you kidding? did you see the size of that chest!? id pay $150 for a chest that size any day.
@TheMudoraI do remember that...for example I remember pre-ordering Donkey Kong 64 and I got a T-Shirt...a T-SHIRT! Not some stupid download code for a special in game item nobody cares about. My how things have cheapened....
Naaaaah, first it costs too much, second I just need the game maybe wth expansion packs or maps not dolls or t-shirts, just the game
