Borderlands 2 arriving in 2012?

@TurambarGS why wait? this will be the bomb!! but if you want go ahead and wait a full year to enjoy

i have played borderlands more than any game i have ever played in history. according to raptr, i have played borderlands for over 1090 hours and its not counting the time that i played the game before i joined raptr. so needless to say, i am looking forward to this game being my new "most played game".

after playing borderlands for almost two years now, one thing ive noticed about it is that it seems to be only as fun as the people you are playing with. if people played it online for the first time and got matched with people that used those ridiculous modded weapons that used to plague the game in the game's first year or if they got a game where everybody just wanted to go and do their own thing and not pick people up when they get downed, etc., then i couldnt blame them for having a bad first impression of the game. this game is meant to be enjoyed with people who typically praise games where teamwork is a key factor of success (aka games that place emphasis on co-op). unfortunately thats not everybody so this game isnt for everybody. after hearing various opinions regarding the game over the years, it seems to be one of those games that people either love or hate, no middle ground. many people seem to only prefer games where theyre competing against someone, not working with them.

never played the first, I say its about time to play it.

Loved Borderlands but considering the amount of DLC they put out, I'm definitely going to wait for the GOTY edition again.

How about create your own character in this new Borderlands2 just like Fallout3, well you think?

On a personal note, man I am soo excited for Borderlands 2! The first is one of my all-time favs (in my top 10). Such a fresh, fun mix of humor, action and role-playing. But what I mainly love about it (since I still play it, esp. with friends) is how many new and innovative concepts they came up with for the game.

@charlieboomboom Colonial Marines is slated for spring of next year. If Borderlands 2 does actually come out next year, I think it's safe to say it wouldn't be released until the fall. For one, it would give them more time to finish Aliens first as well as to develop the 2nd Borderlands more deeply. Plus, since the first one came out in October, a fall release for the sequel would make sense.

am still to get the 1st one after i get gears/360 bundle, when are they announcing that anyway,its been a while since i'hav been x360ing

@champmanfan , @gzader that's the beauty of this franchise's splitscreen (and the fact that it doesn't in any way compromise the graphics or gameplay). this is a sofa co-op dream come true. And your right. it most certainly is a game one can pile HOURS of play into. I do hope for a lot of people, that the splitscreen of the original game is retained for it's sequel. Either way, it's a game that "encourages" co-op. It's not too difficult to make friends (especially in a thread like this) nearer the time, who would be only too happy to drop-in and join you for the whole game. who needs mates when you have strangers that are just as geared up to play alongside you as you are them? :) roll-on release date!

I liked Borderlands and as gzader said, it's a lonely world without mates to play alongside as they're playing other titles - I could play for hours but shame they can't! As for DLCs being a hit: One DLC I didn't enjoy was the coliseum as it went on forever, despite playing with a friend, I pursued this just for the achievement in the end.

Borderlands single player camp was pretty lonely. I hope the sequel fixes that. I know it's geared for multiplayer but it would be nice if they could give the same feeling of a living world that fallout had.

Seems you just like to flip flop a lot and change your views from one thing, to something else because you've connected with a different user who has a different opinion that just makes sense to you for some reason.

@ahpuck yeah i played the single player a little bit and i thought it was hard and boring so i quit playing what system do u have borderlands for if u have it for PS3 we can play together i have all of the DLC cause i got the GOTY edition

I am also eagerly waiting for Borderlands 2. The game is so awesome. The good aspect is that it is worthy to play it more and more. :-) Let's us know if through some source GameSpot get to know about the confirmation for the next episode release. We want it. Moeez Ahmad

A note to those mentioning Duke in connection with BL2. When Gearbox began work on Duke what they had was the mess left over from 3DRealms. Gearbox was unfortunately tasked with taking the mess they had and attempting to turn it into a half decent game. They didn't quite succeed; and honestly I don't think it's entirely Gearbox's fault. I for one, believe Borderlands 2 will be epic. And that if Gearbox decides to make a new Duke game, one made in house from scratch by a team that actually gives a crap, I believe it too, will end up being epic. And in fact, I IMMENSELY hope they do make a new Duke. I would be greatly disappointed to have Duke's last game be remembered as DNF is going to be. I hope that DNF will simply go down in history as Duke's turning point; the last terrible game handled by a terrible company (3DRealms) before a rise and return to greatness in the hands of a company that actually gives a crap.

Borderlands was the most fun I've ever had with local co-op, besides Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Having explored Pandora completely (thank you, Game of the Year Edition for the DLC) and getting every achievement, I'm eager for more of the Borderlands world. If people don't know already, Gearbox trademarked "Borderworlds", which people believe to be an upcoming MMORPG for the Borderlands franchise. I think that Borderlands 2 will be called Borderworlds, and that we have the ability to fly an aircraft that will take us from planet to planet. That's just I think will happen, but if it does - DO WANT.

thats your opinion shark. i for one thought borderlands was a great game and so did 4 million other people. but god i do hope that no one from the duke dev works on blorderlands 2

too bad gearbox sucks. every single game they have released in the last five years has underwhelmed. and their upcoming Brothers In Arms game looks awful. I dont really think i need to mention Duke Nukem Forever, oh well.. looks like i did...

Hoping this turns out to be true.... Borderlands is one of my fav. games of all times.... If borderlands 2 is announced... I am gonna be really excited and happy....
