Xbox Live Update: Hudson's top-down action game hits hub alongside two free titles; Army of Two: The 40th Day for Games on Demand; add-on content for Guardian of Light, Pinball FX2 also out.
Microsoft's Games for the Holidays promotion kicks off in two weeks, but for those looking to pick up something new today, Xbox Live has a few fresh offerings to check out.
Leading the pack this week is Hudson's Bomberman Battlefest (800 MS points, or $10). The Xbox Live Arcade title follows the franchise's proven mechanics, in that it has players using bombs to take down enemy players. Before players can defeat their opponent, however, they must blow up bricks that stand in the way. The title boasts eight-player functionality and five game modes: VIP, Capture the Crown, Bankroll, Paintbomb, and Capture the Flag.
Microsoft added two free XBLA titles to the download space today, the first of which is Doritos Crash Course. The nacho-chip-themed obstacle course game-show-themed title uses players' avatars as in-game characters and supports both online and offline co-op play.
The other free XBLA title out today is Harms Way. A half racing, half shooting title, the game demands two skill sets from its player: driving and shooting. As a sniper, players must blow up competing racers, and as a racer, players must finish three laps to succeed.
Gamers looking for action on the war-torn streets of Shanghai this week can download Electronic Arts' cooperatively themed Army of Two: The 40th Day via the Games on Demand hub. The title was released in January and enjoyed satisfactory reception. The 40th Day follows 2007's original and picks back up with the mercenary duo Salem and Rios in China, which is in the grips of a number of inexplicable catastrophes.
Earlier this week the gaming community got its first look at the new face of Lara Croft, but for those not ready to leave the franchise's downloadable entry, new content for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is available to download today. The Hazardous Reunion Pack includes new puzzles, more combat, and a "fiery reunion with an old friend."
Also out today are new tables for Pinball FX2. The Marvel Comic Table Pack (800 MS points, or $10) bundles four new tables for the virtual pinball simulator. Tables themed around Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Blade are included in the pack.
How about Call of Duty Bomberman . just disable all weapons only allow frags and noobtubing. by the way, have you ever wondered about the generousness of your character warning the enemy that you are "Throwing frag" it is even funnier when you have a ghost on.
@kaizerkakai Bloody Roar would mean making a good full game that takes a lot of time and effort. In this very sad economy if a game isn't a shooter don't expect much from the sales. Because most people only want the next big shooter, us gamers that have some taste and look for the few quality games left are made to suffer.
Put it on PC. Also, stop releasing a game and still have no info about when it come to other consoles, that's just lazy.
I'll never forgive them for the abomination that is Bomberman: Act Zero. Instead going through all the trouble of trying to make a fresh bomberman, how about they take a break to let their brains recover in the 'idea' department, and just revitalize Bomberman64? They'd make much more cash off that than anything else they can possibly throw at us.
What's the difference between Bomberman Live and this new one? I'm hesitant to pay for an XBLA Bomberman game considering I purchased all the DLC for the first one...
First! So do you need the original Pinball FX to play these tables, or can it be played by itself? Seems kind of expensive for 4 tables...
