Two Worlds gets first expansion

In January, a product page for Two Worlds: The Temptation on the PlayStation 3 surfaced on the Web site of retailer GameStop, suggesting that developer Reality Pump was producing an upgraded version of its PC and Xbox 360 open-world role-playing game for Sony's console. Now it appears all three platforms may be in for more adventuring, as Reality Pump today announced The Temptation as an expansion "for PC and consoles," with a planned release in the first half of 2008.

The Temptation will advance plot points from the original game's story, introduce new territories for players to explore, and tweak the game's combat. Further changes are being made to player transport options and non-player character interactions. For more on the original game, check out GameSpot's review.

Why is it that half of the people hate the game but never have played it? I don't listen to game reviews even if the game got a good rating. To me Two Worlds was a good start and I think the expansion will make the game even better. So all the haters of Two Worlds say that they played the demo and said that it sucked rent the game because the demo isn't the full game. For example I played the Call of Duty 4 beta and I didn't like it. But I bought it and I love the game. So just rent the game first and don't listen to the reviews.

People that think this is an Oblivion Rip-Off are obviously new comers in the world of video games, so I welcome them. But at the same time, I'll educate them. Two games in the same genre don't make one of them a rip-off. Otherwise, there would be a single soccer game, a single FPS game, a single action game, and a single RTS game. You'd have like 12 games to choose from all in all. It's like saying that Halo is a Wolfenstein rip-off. No it's not, two different games in the same genre.
Point 2: The lag issue is fixed, so you can drop that argument now.
Point 3: The game has a good gameplay which makes it fun. Remember what gameplay is anyone? It is very addictive, gives meaningful choices to the player, and grants hours of exploration and character leveling. Nothing to complain abou there.
Point 4: The graphics in a game are the least important aspect. Remember that kids, and those that say that Two Worlds has N64 graphics need to play N64 again to refresh their memory.
Point 5: Oblivion is really an amateur game for amateurs, no wonder why so many people liked it. You can't have as many connoisseurs as you can have amateurs.
Point 6: The only fun I had in Oblivion was making deformed looking characters with the character maker. (have you noticed it's super easy to make them look ridiculous but impossible to make them look appealing?)

I bought this game before the patch and couldn't stand it, but never got a chance to trade it in, I'm glad I didn't I got bored and tried it again, and I was online so I got the patch, I think it plays great now, sure the combat isn't the best, but hopefully this expansion will fix that, also a plus was I only paid $8.99 for it from Gamefly, so even with the expansion, I'll have paid under $30.00. One of the best RPG menus in any game I've ever played.

if they are making an expansion then either 1) they are trying to recoup losses or 2) it sold well enough to warrant a sequel. After about 3 weeks I love the game, but I liked Gothic and Oblivion / Morrowind. Voice acting makes me cringe and my wife laugh

I paid 12$ for Two worlds and so far (6 hours playing) Ive enjoyed it alot. Its not Oblivion but im liking the 3rd person combat and a world that forces you to walk around (instead of just hitting a "Quick Travel" button). Looking forward to the expansion.

I've been playing and modding Two Worlds for a long time. I know why so many players hated it and so many others enjoyed it. I can't do anything for the XBox version, multiplayer, or voice acting. However, I created a PC mod called Two Worlds Elite that fixes the balance issues and will provide a long, fun, challenging single player campaign. If you want to see Two Worlds at it's best, check it out.

Okay, just to clarify all the previous entries about this game, It sucks. Plain and simple. You can't fix suck just by making more suck. I can't be unfair though. This game has some really good ideas. It's just that most of them are poorly executed. I won't complain about the framerate, because I wore Oblivion out and it had framerate issues. The graphics are decent but did anyone notice the large lines running through the entire game? The melee weapons were okay but magic couldn't do it. The voice acting turned me off instantly. Anyway to state the obvious again, TWO WORLDS SUCKS! But if they fix the framerate and voice issues, I'll give it another try.

Glitches aside, this game was pretty enjoyable - the storyline was solid, the dialogue was hilarious, the side missions were enjoyable, and the combat (at the start of the game at least) was fairly realistic - stuff killed you easily - when you reached level 40 odd, you started to kill stuff quite easily though. Ending was a little weak, but I'd be interested in playing some extra missions etc and if they could fix the combat balance so if you're level 60, you can still die if a lava dragon (which is 10 times your size) hits you.

Yes, there are people who play this game -- because it's an incredible game. I'm with "smerius." This game feels a bit rough when you first start, but it's at least as good as Oblivion overall, with more personality. It has a cheesy, idiosyncratic sort of charm that grows on you and immense depth as an open-world RPG. Character advancement is more satisfying than Oblivion's "level-it-by-quantity-of-use" system -- an interestng idea that didn't work and led to an insane degree of mindless repetition of tasks, because the truth is you don't need every single ability equally at all times across the board. The item, weapon, and armor inventory of Two Worlds is vastly superior as well, and looting the world has an addictive, Diablo-esque quality. And your protagonist is actually a hoot once you spend a little time playing him, if you just have a sense of humor about him. Great game, I'm happy to hear about the expansion. I do wish they'd tighten up the frame rate on single player a bit, but other than that, most of the ostensible technical issues have not had any significant impact on my game.

Well it wasn't the worst game ever (framerates did not went to hell that much) the main problem was that it was an empty game. You could run around the world (cause using an horse is like asking someone to put a bullet through your brain), and you would never meet someone or something, (except maybe for wolves whom obviously had a sucidal instinct). I may be wrong here, but in a game that is suppose to showcase a lot of great fighthing sequences, why on earth do I have to search for enemy to meet and when I do, WHY OH PLEASE WHY, is it always the same kind of wolves (ah wait actually they had different name and a few more hit point, my bad).

On the plus side there was the option of regressing your character in order to re-adjust your skills and abilities, something a lot of other role-playing games would benefit from offering. Then again the interessting options (insert : actually usefull) were so few it did not really matter.

All in all it was an ok game (I did finished it), perhaps if it had not intended on being the next Oblivion (a VERY bold statement to make) it could have been a better game overall.

After about an hour, I was sucked in just like I was when I first played Morrowind (and Oblivion).

It's a good game if you can accept the terrible voice acting (I laughed to tears alot of the time.) and it's a game worthy of an expansion.
