Blizzard rep denies Diablo III launching Feb. 1 - Retail Radar

I wanted to be playing diablo 3 on/before my birthday March 27th. Looks more and more unlikely now. Almost 12 months I have had this on preorder. But I would rather the game be ready to play than crashing all the time "when its ready"

There is no way possible the game will be out before April. They just patched beta for the 10th time and Blizz usually anounces a date 2 months before. Look for this title Spring/Summer

So the ad was legit? Gamestop and Bestbuy seem to be saying the same date... and my guess would be they would have had to get the information from somewhere. It's not totally unheard of for companies to accidentally expose something because they came into contact with information which incidentally was not meant to be announced yet. Call me crazy, but I'm still hoping for Feb 1st 2012.

This stalling from Blizzard is driving me nuts. I know Blizzard has a reputation for developing great games. However, in my opinion, when someone says early 2012, I suspect anytime between January-March. That is a quarter. I believe an early release would be in-between that timeframe. We know it isn't getting released January since we are already half-way through the month. February release would be great but I am banking on a March Release. Just my thoughts. Blizzard Entertainment, quit stalling. We are all eager to give Diablo a beating.

Blizzard might just be the only company that can tell me they'll delay their game more than once without me being unhappy about it. Let's face it, every Blizzard title was delayed, their release date always is "when it's done", but on the other hand each and every game has been a gamechanger. I'm still playing D2 and W3 and I will only stop when they release D3!

This wait is killing me. Between Diablo III and Black Mesa, it feels like nothing is getting done.

@baal46 The article is in the News section, and obviously it's news. GameSpot didn't state that it has any credibility. They only layed out the fact6s of the news; to sum it up: someone came up with a release date - blizzard denied it - didn't respond to gamespot's comment request - blah, blah, blah.... What made you think that gamespot believes in the story.

Duh. Shame on you, GameSpot for publishing an article about that obviously-fake release date, as though you believed it had any credibility whatsoever.

Make sure it's completely polished before you release it Blizzard. We hardcore gamers don't want to be disappointed. Like a certain Duke game out there did.

you would think that after 5 years of teasing us they'd actually give us a release date rather than pushing back the window every three months -_-

Never listen to Best Buy they make mistakes all the time with release dates. I remember a few years back they put a poster of PS3's Final Fantasy VII remake in there window and I took it for lols. They didn't care and they didn't stop me either.

If they somehow manage to delay this another year, I won't be surprised.

Well, guess it is back to the drawing board. I am patient being there is other new games coming out. Hope it do not turn out like Duke Nukem did after all this waiting.

Ha figures, glad I didn't preoder. IMO D3 won't come out till WOW isn't profitable anymore.

Diablo 2 was pushed back to Summer 2000. Expect the same for Diablo 3, Summer 2012.

For all the people who say Blizzards' new MMO is a StarCraft MMO, it's not. Totally not. I bet they do it some day, maybe after a couple more generations of MMO technology have raised the bar above what we have now. Just look up 'Blizzard Titan' for the few scraps of info that is out there on their new IP.

@minijeffro DIII lifespan will be short ? Jesus man you really don't have a clue about what you're talking about. DIII have more content in it then 5 games put together, and i'm not even talking about the 2 expansion pack they will release in the future.

Diablo III and GW2 are no longer on my list of games to keep on the lookout for. That ship has sailed.

Blizzard just take forever to make their games, its an annoyance, but they always deliver the goods (except for Cataclysm which was awful). Wow is finally in its twilight years as the game is really starting to show its age both in gameplay and graphics. I hope their new MMO is a breath of fresh air. Diablo 3 will be great and a blast to play but its lifespan will be short as it's a campaign based game. I expect to play through it with friends maybe once or twice...then what.

Diablo III is still WAY too early in the Beta to even consider being released. I wouldn't be surprised if this game gets pushed back to a Fall Release.

@DarkRupert But they wont be selling, players will. The only way you'll be able to get an amazing weapon for money is if someone wants to sell it. And lets remember the auction houses are region based so a chinese guy who farms itens for a living wont be able to sell to you.

@poppen695 you couln't be anymore wrong. HotS dosn't have a release date yet. WoW has totally gone downhill since cata, and it's not going to get better with this panda crap. i canceled my sub a couple years ago. No one i played with then still plays. Blizz is working on a new MMO, most likely something to do with SC. ToR blows WoW away anyhoo. MMORPGs in all honesty are boring nowadays compared to the excitement you can get from other games, especially on a time vs reward aspect. Plus D3 has been delayed for years now. It won't surprise me if i t releases Feb 1. They aren't gonna wanna hold off too long and conflict with SC2 expansion, which the only people buying it are more than likely in it bc they're fans of the series or serious SC enthusiasts. D3 launching in Feb makes alot of sense considering it wont have to compete with other major titles in March such as Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, and Ghost Recon to name a few.

I will be too old to play this by the time its released.

What's in it for them? When Feb 1st comes around and they have no games to sell, what would they do then? Prepare for a riot?

lol... if you want it faster do you a favor and forget it!!... The time will pass faster... looks like Torchlight 2 is waiting for the best release window too... February will be Amalour Reckoning release not D3 nor Torch 2...:)

I was excited for Diablo III........when it was announced nearly 4 years ago... I stopped following its progress when I heard there wasn't gonna be stat allocation in leveling, no more town portals, level cap at 60, Auction house for real currency, same length of story as D2 and.....do I really need to keep going? I guess this is what happens when Blizzard North isn't behind production, which is why this is pretty much a carbon copy of Diablo II; only with better graphics.... Did you know that Diablo III actually began production in 2005? Crazy huh?

This game isn't releasing in 2012...it will be early to mid 2013 at the earliest. Blizzard still has too much profit to farm from WoW and Starcraft expansions this year, and they will put huge profits in front of the desires of gamers any time there is a choice...not that you can blame them, they are a company after all.
