please blizzard..no more mmos..pleeeeaaaasee..what happended to the rts..or rpgs...no more mmos please... wii + blizzard !=rule the world
Job listing on publisher's site lists production experience with next-gen console as a plus.
It's no secret that Blizzard is trying to crack the console gaming market. While Starcraft: Ghost is currently in development limbo, it signaled the company's first big push into the living room, with versions originally planned for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. At this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Blizzard COO Paul Sams confirmed for GameSpot that the company was looking into development on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Now it seems the Wii might be on Blizzard's radar as well. A job posting for a senior producer on the company's Web site lists "Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii production experience" as a plus.
This isn't the first indication that Blizzard has been keeping an eye on the Wii. Last November, when it was confirmed that the GameCube version of Ghost was canned, a moderator on the Blizzard forums said that "The GameCube and Revolution [the original moniker of the Wii] will still be considered for future products."
Blizzard representatives were not available for comment as of press time.
King-gamer is so right Blizzard = god of pc games! Wii + Blizzard = rule the world?! I have my Wii in its box atleast my 360 is still next to my tv (collecting dust...) and PS3 atleast for bluray. But I'm still playin WoW!
Erm, why wouldn't it be a plus having some next-gen experience? It doesn't at all have to mean they're interested in any of those platforms.
With the implemention of the Wiimote and the relative ease that Twilight Princess has shown for third-person aiming, I can see Starcraft: Ghost working on the Wii. It's a real possibility.
It would be awesome to play a game like starcraft online on a wii!!! that would be sooo awesome dont u think?
I would love to see Starcraft on Wii. I don't know what it would be like but the new controller with a Blizzard game would be very cool.
Since this will most likely be the only "next-gen" console I buy (at least until the price drops on the PS3), I hope Blizzard does make a good game for Wii...a RTS could concievably work with the controls...although it would be interesting. If anyone can do it, blizzard can!
Is Ghost EVER going to come out? It was at E3 for FOUR YEARS. Is there ANY game designer that can meet a frelling deadline?!
Nintendo needs to release a pokemon mmo. If they did it right it could be very very successful. Imagine walking through the world of pokemon and actually using the wiimote to throw pokeballs etc. I would buy it.
unless they release some kind of keyboard for the wii the mmorpg like wow should stay on pc but with some kind of keyboard the mmo gamer could find a new home with wii. and StarCraft: Ghost on Wii would (and better be) awesome
Did anyone ever own / play Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde? there's an RTS on a console, made by ex-blizzard employees. the game was a slight let-down, being able to have a maximum of 30 units at once, being split into 3 groups. with 5 playable races, 5 units per race, a titan, and 1 tower, it doesn't leave you with many options of how to play... also, for those who think the wii couldn't handle WoW, i'm running it on a laptop with a 16mb graphics card, although the minimum requirement is 32... (hasn't stopped me getting to level 60 & in a MC/BWL/ony guild either) also, with that said, i think they might wait before starting an RTS on a console...
wow is goin to home consoles, they said that if they and sony worked sumthing out, they would bring WOW to the ps3, i think that u cant do it on the wii, the way nintendo set themselves up with the wii, there gonna get shot down, nintendo is takin away the games that ppl bought the gcn. think of it, how can u play wow on the wii...u cant even play madden seriously with out messing up everything about it.
They should try a RTS. An RTS game with the wii wouldn't be a bad idea. Blizzard would probably make it good.
While i think its unlikely that WOW will go to home consoles, i can see the massive potential to make a new breed of MMOG's on the Wii. If anyone can do it, blizzard can.
"The GameCube and Revolution [the original moniker of the Wii] will still be considered for future products." So you can consider them for a product you'll never make...got it.
I'm not so sure about how great the Wii would be as a mouse. Maybe i've got to get 'hands on' with it first, but where the mouse is resting on the desk, having to hold your arm out for any long periods of time is going to be nasty. Also think of the excuses that WoW players have now for losing in a Duel, and add to it "oh i dropped my Wiimote" or "My arm seized up" or "I picked up the TV remote by mistake" ;P I love the idea of the Wii, i just don't know about the practicality of it. I want to sit down and enjoy a good game, not prance around the room pretending to be Nova or a Hydralisk. I stopped that kinda stuff when i was 10.
I'm sill waiting just to play another star craft game its been far to long sense the last one what are they doing..
WoW would be alright on the Wii as long as they redefine the controls to perfectly work with the remote and if they lower/remove the $15 per month fee, but don't expect something completely revolutionary if they do transfer WoW over to the console world. Plus, the massive HUD wouldn't fit too well on 15 or 17 inch televisions.
there was a report ages ago about Iwata wanting Wow on the Wii by WoW he didnt mean World of Warcraft but smiliair MMO + MMORPG which i would love to see as long as they cancle monthly fess i hate them, you have already bought the game why should you have to pay to play it aswell
WoW needs to stick to the PC , as do most MMORPGs. I'm sure they will use the Wii to come out with a new property that they have been working on for a while now.
Thanks to the Wiimote, a Starcraft or Warcraft may be possible. Blizzard will probably pursue other titles first though.
There make a new Starcraft game that will be released on all there consoles. But putting WoW on the Wii probable not. But maybe for the 360, and PS3 WoW could be a possible. Because there much more powerfully than the Wii.
Nintendo's consoles are known to sell different types of games (like Animal Crossing), NOT the kind of games Blizzard makes. If they do make a Starcraft game for the Wii, no one will buy it.
is swinging ape studios still slated to develop it? i loved there game metal arms glitch in the system. i would like to see a spiritual successor to that.
i hope they dont keep delaying this even more longer. it was originally planned for the current gen consoles.
starcraft ghost on the Wii......that would pwn all pwnage. really, any Blizzard game on the Wii would be splendorifous. but WoW should stay on the PC, period.
WoW Wii, a WoW for the Wii would be interesting. Not into Warcraft, but the Wii can always use more third party support. It seems like everyone's flocking to the Wii, which is good. Whatever they bring to the party that is Wii, they'll be welcomed.
