UK developer orgainising open day for lecturers and teachers involved in educating potential video game developers.

Blitz has announced that it will open its doors to those involved in educating potential games developers on July 20. The Leamington Spa-based developer has added a third day after high demand for the two student events it is holding on June 6 and July 16, for those considering a career in the gaming industry. The educator days promise a first-hand look at what developers are looking for from potential employees.

Visitors to Blitz's development house will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at video game creation for the Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. They will also be able to speak to people involved with next-gen development, including animators, programmers, designers, and audio technicians. Current projects under development at Blitz include Reservoir Dogs, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Karaoke Revolution: American Idol.

Philip Oliver, CEO of Blitz commented: "By adding a third day for the educators, we hope to be able to work even more closely with them and shed more light on the skills and talents that we look for."

Anyone interested in attending the events should apply at Blitz's Open Day Web site.

Reservoir Dogs need Tarantino as a teacher.

Well, according to Blitz's recent games, they need some teachers. But it's pretty cool to see that a game developer is actually getting teachers

PS3 development will be slow and they may well have very little to show for it, especially given that the final official dev kits are not out until July (iirc). They develop their own cross-platform tools so if it is unlikely that demonstrating anything PS3 related is possible (if Sony would even let them). They have certainly announced they will support the platform with their zombie game Possession: http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6123369.html
